Isabel Marant tie-dye denim jacket
Denim is, of course, an evergreen fashion stable, so finding new ways to reinterpret this timeless fabric has been a recurring challenge for designers every season — it’s also something I’m always looking forward to see. For SS20, Isabel Marant is giving her denim creations a retro touch with the tie-dye treatment. I’m particular interested in this fabulous looking denim jacket (HK$5,120) that has these structured shoulders that will instantly give any look an effortless and cool appeal. What makes it even more attractive is that the sleeves are totally detachable, so you can layer it over anything you fancy, be it a sweatshirt (as seen above), a sweater, a crisp shirt or even a dress — because everything goes! — Cindie Chan, Style Editor
Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk eyeliner in smokey berry brown
Earlier in February, we swooned over the launch of Charlotte Tilbury’s extended Pillow Talk series with sultry and demure looks perfect for the occasion of Valentine’s Day. One interesting tidbit I picked up during our photoshoot was the surprising, subtle way to upgrade your everyday cat-eye liner: do it in an unusual hue that complements your eyeshadow (if any at all). Our model had on this exquisite burgundy shade of eyeliner (HK$260 online; try it at the new Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Wonderland 2.0 at IFC Mall through 31 March), which gave an impressively clean and sharp line despite it being a pencil. I prefer liquid eyeliner myself, but when the results are this glamorous, elegant, and most importantly, easy, I just had to have my hands on the smooth and longwearing liner, keeping it in mind for days when the classic black flick just won’t do. —Evelyn Lok, Associate Editor
Giuseppe Zanotti NIDIR retro heel sneakers
I’m not usually a fan of the canvas high tops, mainly because I look like a ten-year-old in them. However, Giuseppe Zanotti has just given these retro kicks an unexpected spin, and I’m kind of loving it. Dubbed the NIDIR, these new releases are inspired by your classic canvas high tops (think Converses), but with an added five-centimetre heel in full white that reminds me a little of the disco roller skates from the ’80s. The resemblance is particularly strong for the shimmering version in printed crocodile leather (HK$7,250, now available at the brand’s Harbour City and Elements stores) which makes them look rather fun. For those who enjoy something more low-key, it also comes in three other monochrome iterations. —CC
