Cami NYC ‘The Evelyn’ silk-blend charmeuse midi dress

Weekly Obsessions

A sleeveless figure-hugging midi dress does wonders when it comes to elongating your proportions, and with the weather being so hot and humid these days I just want to slip one right on and go. While I do enjoy the jersey versions which give a nice laid back vibe with a slightly sporty appeal, I’m also in love with this silk-blend iteration by Cami NYC (HK$2,257) that will surely give me all of the above but more. It’s essentially a mash-up of a silky slip dress and a jersey tank dress, which offers that effortless elegance that every one of us desires. Oh and did I mention the little slit-and-flare at the hem and the tasseled ties that drape down your open back? —Cindie Chan, Style Editor

Louis Vuitton ArtyCapucines PM Alex Israel

Weekly Obsessions - Louis Vuitton

Any Louis Vuitton fan will certainly recognise the Capucines bag; launched not too long ago in 2013, it quickly became iconic amongst fashion lovers for its contemporary yet classic design. In the spirit of its modernity, and also the maison’s continued collaborations with top artists around the world such as Stephen Sprouse, Yayoi Kusama and Jeff Koons, Louis Vuitton has invited six of the currently most popular contemporary artists across the globe to apply their unique visions to the Capucines. The results? Six distinctively creative ArtyCapucines bags that showcase not only the artists’ creativity, but also the innovation and know-how of the house’s ateliers. I particularly adore the one by Alex Israel (HK$72,000), which, of course, is rendered in the artist’s signature wave design in candy colours. There are a limited quantity of 300 numbered pieces available for each model, which will all be released from 25 June. —CC

P Johnson ‘Lobster’ Airtex shirt jacket

weekly obsessions

All construction worker and traffic warden-related jokes aside, P Johnson’s latest shirt jacket (approx. HK$2,687) is a real step up in terms of creative direction and engineering for the brand. It’s made out of a proprietary Swiss fabric called Airtex which has been developed by Italian shirtmaker Giro Inglese for maximum comfort and heat resistance. Coloured in a shade that’s jokingly referred to by Pat himself as “lobster”, this is an irreverent substitute for sportcoats during the summer, pairing easily with chinos and mid-blue shirting. The punchy colourway initially takes some getting used to, but before long you’ll be wearing this with everything from sneakers to resortwear — just avoid the urge to take it cycling. —Randy Lai, Staff Writer

Sulwhasoo First Care Activating Serum EX: 22nd Anniversary Edition

Weekly Obsessions

Korea’s top-selling anti-ageing serum is celebrating its 22nd anniversary with a dazzling new special edition flacon, dripping head to toe in gold and chrome (HK$1,000 from Sulwhasoo). Loved by beauty gurus the world over, the serum is designed to be patted on the skin right after cleansing, helping to improve skin absorbency for subsequent skincare layers, as well as hydrating, brightening and firming up the skin thanks to its JAUM Balancing Complex — an anti-ageing quintet of key herbal ingredients. Now apparently 180% more concentrated than the original formula, it’s truly a versatile must-have in your beauty arsenal. You can also apply liberally like a mask to balance the skin and fix issues such as redness and large pores, or even mix it with foundation to give your skin a silkier, glowy finish. If you want to maintain the complexion of a healthy, rosy-cheeked 22-year-old (even when your HKID says otherwise), this is the splurge you’ll want to start with. —Evelyn Lok, Associate Editor
