Swiss watchmaker Omega recently celebrated the launch of its reimagined De Ville Trésor collection and the opening of its new Pedder Street boutique in Hong Kong with a special ceremony, hosted by Omega’s CEO and president, Raynald Aeschlimann; Kevin Rollenhagen, managing director of The Swatch Group (HK) Ltd.; and Jimmy Mak, brand manager of Omega Hong Kong. They were joined by popular Korean actress Song Hye-kyo for a special toast.

The new boutique, located in the heart of Central, covers an area of 128 square metres, occupying the ground floor of Central Building and featuring an exquisite façade facing Pedder Street. Thanks to the intimate and luxurious atmosphere, visitors can take their time browsing through the brand’s full range of products, including Constellation, Seamaster, Speedmaster and De Ville timepieces, as well as the mesmerising fine jewellery pieces, fine leather collection, sunglasses collection and even perfume.

Having recently hosted a grand event in Berlin to celebrate the debut of its new De Ville Trésor collection, the occasion marked the very first time Omega has brought this new ladies’ range to Hong Kong for all to see. The collection, available in a total of nine variations in a diverse range of materials and colours, features a classic design with a truly modern edge, making it a wonderful choice for today’s new generation of sophisticated and confident female watch lovers.

Branded with a name that first appeared in Omega’s vocabulary in 1949, the word trésor (which means ‘treasure’ in English) refers to the legendary 30mm calibre — a movement not only famous for its precision, but also its simple, logical design that inspired the beautifully thin, golden case of the original Trésor timepiece. Passionate about retaining the name, Omega welcomed the De Ville Trésor once again in 2014, and updated it with the new Co-Axial movement and a thin case of just 10.6mm in height.

Retaining its signature sleek aesthetics, the newly reimagined 2018 Trésor possesses the essence of Omega’s ladies’ watchmaking, and is distinguished by an even slimmer case of either 9.75mm (for 39mm models) or 8.85mm (for 36mm models) in height — a figure made possible due to a highly precise in-house calibre 4061 quartz movement.

Other than the nine De Ville Trésor timepieces presented from the main collection, guests at yesterday’s event were also able to preview three new 36mm jewellery pieces including a garnet model with a luxurious bold red colour dial and leather strap, as well as two models with a beautiful blue Aventurine dial and an alluring mother-of-pearl dial. The latter two pieces are paved with dazzling baguette-cut diamonds for a more luxurious flair, and feature cases crafted from 18K Canopus Gold™ — an exclusive white gold alloy that’s 100% noble for its high brilliance, whiteness and longevity, and proof of Omega’s tireless perseverance for innovation and brilliance.
