Cathay Pacific expands fanfares to business and premium economy classes

Travel is an essential part of the Hong Kong lifestyle, which is why highly dedicated people religiously check Cathay Pacific’s ‘fanfares’ — special flight discounts offered in limited quantities — every Tuesday morning to find great deals for their next getaway. Launched in October 2012, the promotional scheme has been on of the airline’s most successful initiatives, though the discounted fares have only been applicable for seats in economy class. That’s all changing as of today: to celebrate the fourth anniversary of fanfares, Cathay Pacific and Dragonair have announced that fanfares have been ‘upgraded’ to include seats in business class and premium economy.

Now through May 2017, travel junkies will have the opportunity to travel in elevated style to 11 cities on selected dates, with initial offerings that include business class options such as Phuket (HK$2,900), Seoul (HK$4,900) and Los Angeles (HK$29,900), as well as premium economy promotions to Milan (HK$9,900) and Vancouver (HK$9,900). Other cities included in this week’s batch include Cebu, Taichung, Singapore, Nagoya, Frankfurt and Chicago.

With the newly upgraded fanfares, you can now enjoy greater comfort and benefits for a lower price.

The benefits of purchasing fanfares for business class and premium economy are obvious. Aside from the favourable prices, you can enjoy greater comfort and benefits such as enhanced baggage allowances, advanced seat reservations, lounge access and, most important of all, even full mileage earnings capabilities (125% for business class and 110% for premium economy). If you don’t already have your next vacation planned out, you might want to do it now.
