Some might say Hongkongers are demanding when it comes to a fast-paced life of work and play. We’re always after a little something extra, a little ingredient X, if you will. Aptly, for all of us wilted by the hectic Hong Kong day-to-day, W Hong Kong has always been ahead of the curve with its otherworldly imagination, adding spice and edge to our humdrum lives with their latest “X” campaign.

The hotel is unleashing a slew of extraordinary surprises, from indulgent eats to an awesome room package for those seeking a holiday from routine. From brand crossovers to exquisite treats, to new extreme ways to experience a spa session — there’s never a dull moment at W Hong Kong.

W Hong Kong - StyleNanda
All pink everything at STYLENANDA’s pop-up stay promotion at W Hong Kong

With the enduring fever for pink in fashion and style, W Hong Kong is set to transform its most exquisite, spacious suite with everyone’s favourite colour. Partnering with i.t., the hotel is bringing Korean lifestyle sensation STYLENANDA to Hong Kong for a thrilling pop-up, featuring the brand’s signature, ultra-instagrammable hue. From early September to 30 November, the EWOW suite will be wrapped in chic pink, where staying guests will also get to have their hands on a stylish “STYLENANDA PINK HOTEL” amenity pack, featuring K-beauty treats from 3CE. You’ll want to round up your girlfriends and book in for a night of pampering and photo-taking.

If thrilling new takes on tradition is your kind of jam, you’ll want to head over to Sing Yin Cantonese Dining, where Chinese Executive Chef Johnny Chan has devised a new menu of six dishes — each drawing inspiration from the five elements of metal, wood, water, fire and earth, as well as yin and yang. Available through 30 September, dishes include lychee-wood fried crispy chicken, pan-fried lobster with green pepper and Chinese wine, Iberico pork with pineapple and raisins in a red wine sauce, and tofu pudding and black sesame soup for dessert.

As Mid-Autumn Festival is just around the corner, W Hong Kong is well aware of all the lethargy-inducing indulgences this mooncake season. A strong believer in the mantra of “Detox. Retox. Repeat.”, W has come up with a quirky design to offset the calorific morsels: with eight moreish golden custard mooncakes wrapped in a dumbbell-shaped box (HK$800). It may not weigh as much as the real thing, but it’s a punchy reminder for us to stay balanced for the forthcoming holiday season.

Work hard and eat hard at W Hong Kong this mooncake season.

Even when all the fun and excess is over, it doesn’t mean you’ll have to succumb to exhaustion. Quite the opposite: W Hong Kong’s bliss spa has partnered up with Natura Bissé to launch for the very first time a thrilling virtual reality spa affair. “The Mindful Touch Spa VR X-perience” brings together the Spanish wellness brand’s expertise in diamond facials with an immersive virtual reality video track — provided via virtual reality goggles — that directs the guest through mindful breathing and guided relaxation as a pre-facial ritual. Afterwards, a soothing voiceover helps the busy mind truly relax during the treatment. Just book either the Diamond Life Infusion Experience or Diamond Multisensorial Lifting Experience (HK$2,950 each) to receive a complimentary go at The Mindful Touch VR Experience.

All of these exquisite experiences just won’t be the same if you had to rush through Hong Kong’s hustle and bustle before and afterwards. To get the full W experience, you’ll want to book in for the Something X room package, which gives you ample time to luxuriate and enjoy your well-earned downtime. Available through 30 December 2018, the stay package includes daily breakfast for two at Kitchen, featuring a sumptuous spread of the hotel’s renowned buffet; a W World in Reverse crystal ball as an insta-worthy gift; as well as two limited edition bottles of W Hong Kong x Young Master brewery’s Hello Ginger — a craft witbier inspired by the local street snack Ning Jup Geong, or lemon-pickled ginger.
