Tired-looking eyes from watching too much Netflix or working online? Disguise them with these affordable concealers that pack a punch with their coverage and great shade cards.
Concealers are like magic wands. They remove your tiredness, hide those measly dark circles, and make your face look like it’s having a happy time on a tropical island. Plus, with our sleep cycles all gone haywire, concealers are now our best friends to look well-rested for zoom meetings.
Not that we advocate anything less than a 7-hour sleep cycle, we also understand the times we are in. Anxiety is a real thing, sleeplessness, an everyday struggle, and that’s why a concealer comes in handy. Pop a single dot in the corners of your eyes and make sure you use a high-coverage option, and you can swim through your long, arduous day with a smile on your lips and looks that can kill, all while sitting at home.
We believe that foundations are not the easiest to reach out when you are doing those quick meetings – all your need is a concealer that does the job. We had model/ influencer Arshia Ahuja recently to talk about her favourite trick to use concealer to lift your face, and why concealer is your secret weapon.
A good concealer can do three things right: Make you look fresh in minutes, fake a good night’s sleep, and make you look like a million bucks. And while we are in love with our luxe faves like Estee Lauder, Bobbi Brown, and Tom Ford, we have to admit that our love for concealers began with budget options. Here are our best picks for the role of a stunning and value-for-money concealer in the Indian market.
Every beauty blogger has one in her kitty. With nine shades that match almost every Indian skin tone range, the Fit Me option has come a long way. The strength lies in its formula; it’s thick and gives you coverage without creasing or during out.
The foundation has been a winner, and that’s why the concealer will rule the market – the formula is intense. There are only three shades, and all of them are perfect for Indian skin tones. The concealer is matte, and if you use a shade lighter, you can use it to brighten your under-eye area a bit. The formula is waterproof and doesn’t flake at all.
NYX is a budget-buy for girls looking for more options in skin tone. The brand comes in nine colours, but most of them are on the lighter side. We sure hope they increase their colour range but if we are talking about concealing – this one does a great job. The texture is creamy, weightless and covers acne, discolouration, and dark circles.
LA Girl concealers are easily the most popular options in the Indian market, and its orange colour corrector is amazing. The good thing about these concealers is that they are crease-resistant and come with a tad bit heavy coverage, but it is opaque. It’s also a buildable formula so you can play with it and it’s long-wearing too.
Max Factor is officially back in India. Their killer formulas and pigments are back in action, which means high-quality fare in pocket-friendly prices. The pen look works beautifully for under-the-eyes so you can use it for touch-ups or on-the-go. It’s a liquid concealer that comes with a sponge-tipped applicator, and it’s a light-diffusing weightless and blendable formula.
A little birdie (read influencers, makeup artists, and YouTubers) told us that this concealer is a perfect dupe for the world-famous Tarte Shape Tape Concealer and trust us, that’s a huge claim. But yes, it turned out to be true for many reasons. First, it’s got a huge range (21 colours), and two, it is high coverage and less drying. The finish is matte and non-cakey, so you can wear it all day long without blinking.
The only gripe we have with this one is that the shade range goes from way too fair to way too dark with not many olive-skinned options in between. But that said, this is a dupe, they say, of the Maybelline Fit Me. The coverage is great for a budget-buy, and it is a buildable, sheer option in the market.
By far the most stunning range, PAC has 23 shades to look for the perfect one that suits you. That said, they are pretty much close to the formulation of LA Girl. The shade card is exciting, and the coverage and colour payoff is excellent. Its formula is weightless, which makes for easy blending. It’s great for women with hyperpigmentation because it gives you that neat sheer look without showing your uneven skin.
