Mirzapur 2 trailer launch: All that happened
High on MX Player releases today. The web series revolves around drug abuse, and has come at a time when the conversation around the topic is in full swing throughout the country.
That Bollywood and the whole country has been in a tizzy for months regarding drug usage is no news. And the latest series on the block, High has released at a rather pertinent time given its subject. The trailer shows that the story starts off from a drug addict trying to get rid of his addiction. However, he gets entangled with a new discovery by the doctors he’s under: A drug in the form of a green pill that kills the dependency on drugs itself.
Shiv Mathur (Akshay Oberoi) is an addict struggling to get a grip on his life and eventually finds himself in a rehab facility. The rehab is run by Doctor Roy (Prakash Belawadi) and two other junior doctors, Shweta (Shweta Basu Prasad) and Nakul (Nakul Bhalla), who are working on a mysterious compound. This magical pill seems to have an edge above all; but is this miracle drug worth dying for? The existence and sampling of this pill creates the biggest disruption in the illegal drugs market and manages to grab the attention of a professional assassin – Lakda (Ranvir Shorey), amongst many others. But will Shiv and the gang be able to achieve their dream? Or will they be eliminated?
Seen in Pariwar, Lootcase, and Angrezi Medium amongst others this year, the acclaimed actor plays Lakda in the series. He’s a ruthless hitman who’s involved in the killings within the drug ring.
The child actor from Makdee, and now adult, plays the role of Shweta. She’s one of the doctors at the drug rehabilitation facility, and a part of the team that’s working on creating a new mysterious substance in the lab.
He’s recently acted in web series like Flesh and Illegal, and plays Shiv Mathur in High. One of the main characters, he’s the addict who decided to get his life in order and gets admitted in rehab. This is the rehab where a team of doctors is working on creating something new, which leads to an unusual turn of events.
Yet another acclaimed actor in the cast, you saw him in Shakultala Devi, Thackery, The Accidental Prime Minister, and many more. He plays the head doctor in this team at the rehabilitation center.
He plays the third doctor in this team that’s out to create or discover something unique.
