Who doesn’t like Italian food? And what better than doubling that indulgence with delicacies from two different regions of Italy? That’s exactly what you’ll get at ‘An Italian Homecoming’, the 10-day festival starting today at Romano’s at JW Marriott Mumbai Sahar. On from August 20 till 31, this pop-up brings together Chef Roberto Zorzoli, Head Chef at Romano’s, and Chef Roberto Apa, Head Chef at Bene at Grand Sheraton Bangalore.
Double the Robertos, double the Italian celebration. The two chefs will bring to the table cuisines from the north and south of Italy, with Zorzoli cooking up the former and Apa the latter. Expect dishes from the cities of Milan, Padua, Recco, Parma, Florence, Emilia-Romagna, Salento, Sicilian Capri, Naples, Puglia, and Pantelleria. The camaraderie shared by the chefs isn’t new – they’ve worked together previously in Shanghai, and are set to revive the magic seven years hence at this festival.
With the best of Italian cuisine on offer, traditional homegrown ingredients, vintage family recipes, and some modern inspiration give way to delicacies such as Maltagliati Verdi Alla Faraona (House Made Pasta Slow Cooked Guinea Fowl, Porcini, Creamy Truffle Sauce), Chicche Saracene Agli Asparagi (Handmade Buckwheat Gnocchi, Creamy Butter Sauce and Green Vegetables, Smoked Parmesan), Risotto Alla Milanese E Tartufo (Carnaroli Selection Rice, Saffron, Portobello Mushrooms Black Truffle Shaver), Orrechiette Alla Cime Di Rapa E Cozze (Handcrafted Pasta Orecchiette Anchovies Broccoli Sauce Mussels Chilly And Toasted Almonds), Paccheri Con Bottarga (Paccheri Pasta, Seafood Ragout, Roasted Cherry Tomato And Fresh Oregano And Bottarga),Torta Caprese (almond Chocolate Egg Butter Salted Cashew Ice Cream).
And that’s just the pull one needs to visit one of the city’s most loved Italian restaurants.
