Weekend Burger Co
Since June this year, this home kitchen in Khar has been churning out a rotational menu of gourmet DIY burgers each weekend. You can choose from options like the flaming hot Cheetos burger paired with house dips and fries, Japanese Katsu Sandos, and even a Mexican-themed burger menu with the addition of tacos and burrito bowls.

Your classic soup gets a fun update with these bread bowls. Started by a mother-daughter duo during the lockdown, The Dough Diaries offers a hearty selection of sourdough bread bowls available in different flavours. There’s a spicy spaghetti soup bowl, a gram-worthy activated charcoal bowl, a chilli cheese corn crockpot, and a list of artisanal breads from a changing menu. Jasleen Marwah is known for her indulgent home-cooked Kashmiri meals, with a focus on authentic flavours. She’ll fix you up with platefuls of her specialities; whether it’s the traditional Rogan Josh, Masala Champ (mutton in a spicy masala), Yakhni, a subtly-spiced curd-based gravy, Dum Aloo, Rajma, or even a sweet Rice Phirni and Shufta. Chef Bhakti Mehta, who is known for her gourmet catering service, Little Food Co, also offers food delivery services under Little Food Daily. Basque – Tarta de Queso
One of the desserts to have taken over our feeds this year is the burnt basque cheesecake. Ayesha Nallaseth makes a decadent version of this caramelised-crusted cheesecake that comes artfully packaged in flavours like vanilla bean, salted caramel, and a gourmet lemon basque cheesecake as well.

Gunu Sahni has been churning out jars of artisanal cream cheese that are handmade in small batches and bundled up in eco-friendly bags. Anuradha Joshi Medhora will cook up a royal feast with plates like the Murgh Badami, Goli Kebab, Seb ki Kheer, and other recipes that pay homage to the Malwa region in Madhya Pradesh and its rich culinary legacy. Currently, there’s a special Diwali menu spanning seven courses, and she also offers weekly specials that you should keep your eyes peeled for. One of her signatures is the Maas Ka Zarda Pulav, a spicy mutton pulav layered with sweet zarda.

Crust & Crumble
Pastry chef Husna Jumani hosts weekend bake sales where you can choose from slices of her signature cakes (or a whole cake as well). The menu is rotational with options like the Coffee and Salted Caramel cake, Raspberry and White Chocolate cheesecake and the off occasion she also whips up stuffed doughnuts, cinnamon cream cheese rolls, sticky walnut and pecan buns, and more.

Chicken wings are the ultimate comfort food. Pair these with a range of hot sauces and fiery condiments, and you’ve got yourself a winner. Harshita Rohra lets you choose how you want your chicken wings made – Southern-fried, seared & baked, or gluten-free & shallow fried, which are tossed in a sauce of your choice. This traditional Korean kitchen and bakery is a new addition to the list of home kitchens in Mumbai. The crisp menu lists plates like Kimchi Mandu (Korean dumplings), Banchan sets (an assortment of small plates), a traditional Bulgogi and Bibimbap, and a smattering of other plates such as sweet and spicy Korean Fried Chicken, savoury pancakes, and more. There are several vegetarian options on the menu as well.

Sambar & Soy
As the name suggests, this home kitchen bridges South Indian and Asian flavours, with alternating menus each week; think, DIY Uttapam Tacos served with a side of Malabar Crisps and Gunpowder Sour Cream, and Filter Coffee Cheesecake. The Asian menu lists options like the Drunken Red Curry Noodles, Wonton Wafers, Butter Garlic Shroom rice, etc.

If it’s the authentic Parsi fare you’re after, Mahrukh Mogrelia will cook up a feast from her home kitchen for your Sunday meal. Chef Marina Balakrishnan, who is also a certified plant-based chef, will transport you to the southern state of Kerala will her home-style fare. The name Oottupura translates to ‘eating place’ in Malayalam. On offer is an assortment of vegetarian meals with a focus on seasonal produce; think heirloom red rice from Thalassery, cardamom from Munnar, etc. There’s currently a festive menu running with plates like Kuttu Curry, Home-style Pepper Rasam, Vegetable Stew, Appams, and much more.
