The Apple India Online Store launches today and will be the new shopping and service e-hub for Apple users in India.
Arriving right before the big Diwali shopping fest, the new Apple India Online Store will undoubtedly be India’s go-to shopping destination for all things Apple. It is the first time the company is opening a first-party retail channel in the country. Up to date, users could only purchase products via third party channels or Apple stores. Now the new e-store will be a one-stop hub for shopping and consultancy for all Apple services.
Alongside the entire range of Apple’s products, the online store will also act as its local contact centre — that provides support and services to Indian customers — for the first time. The company also announced a dedicated education store for India, which will offer special pricing on Mac computers, iPad tablets, their accessories, and Apple’s premium support option called AppleCare Plus.
There will also be a wide range of payment and financing options available to Apple customers, alongside EMI options for credit and debit cards, digital payment on delivery, and RuPay cards. At this time, Apple is not offering cash on delivery (COD) as a payment option because of the contactless delivery requirements norms.
