Although McLaren’s much-anticipated ‘Speedtail’ is due on the far end of 2019, they’ve decided to drop in with a mini-hamper for now, keeping up with the Christmas spirit. Celebrating speed and design, McLaren unite with Shenzhen-based smartphone manufacturer OnePlus as they redesign OnePlus’ latest smartphone. With the 6T already being an exceptional smartphone, they take it a notch higher by giving it some snazzy McLaren aesthetic. The OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition has a distinctive design and even beefier hardware than the already superb “regular” version, just so you know.
McLaren’s logo has been branded on the phone’s rear in the supercar manufacturer’s signature Papaya Orange color. The rear glass rests over a glossy carbon-fiber patterned base, adding to its allure. The retail box of the special-edition smartphone includes McLaren’s legendary Speedmark logo, crafted from the same AA-grade carbon fiber that’s used in the car manufacturer’s Formula 1 racing car. That’s as good as having McLaren’s racecar skin on your smartphone and case.
The carbon fiber base and the contrasting Papaya Orange make for a brilliant aesthetic and will be sure to stand out amongst other smartphones in the market. The hardware on this special edition includes a stunning 10 GB RAM, which is almost the best a smartphone has yet, and that’s a 25% bump over the already impressive 8 GB of available RAM on the standard OnePlus 6T. 256 GB of storage and a vibrant AMOLED display. All this elegantly interfaced with an Android 9.0 Pie based on OxygenOS, OnePlus’ exclusive operating system and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 octa-core.
The Mclaren edition also comes with dual cameras for the rear, 16 MP and 20 MP, while the front camera uses a 16 MP. The OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition is currently available in India exclusively at Amazon and comes with a cool Rs. 51,000 price-tag.
