Leave your guns behind, no killing allowed in Fornite’s Party Royale mode

You can soon ditch your guns, chill-out and sunbathe at ‘Papaya’ thanks to the new Fortnite Party Royale in-game mode.

Who would’ve thought we’d ever witness a Travis Scott gig take place in the middle of a Battle Royale grande? It was truly a spectacle in gaming history. What’s next? They’re easing up on the ‘Battle’ of ‘Battle Royale’, allowing players to just hang out and have fun with others. The same way they brought an entire music concert to our screens, they’re also bringing an entire open world. Considering we’re currently under legal house arrest, and the open world genre being a digital escape, this seems to be a stride in that direction.

Here’s everything you need to know about the Fortnite Party Royale.

Going beyond the Battle Bus and the post-frag dances, Fortnite finally drops a few chips into the open world genre as well. Allowing their ever-so experimental platform to be even more creative now.

We first saw news of this unofficially, as a Fortnite data-miner posted a few images of his findings. The leaked image of the map featured a number of icons which are quite smaller as compared to the standard map. This is indicative of the different mini-games like races or glider courses. The data miner also shared the leaked description of this new mode. It reads, “Welcome to the Party! Leave your weapons and mats behind and hang out with friends, play games, perfect your skydive, and more”. He also stated that the new map will be called ‘Papaya’.

In terms of rewards for attending the live event. Players who showed up to the Party will also get some free Back Bling, along with a set of music-reactive Neon Wings. You can still purchase all of it from the shop in case you missed out. What excites us most from the pack are the paintball launchers, plunger bows, paint grenades, and Durrr Burger and Tomato Head items.
