Samsung’s SpaceMax Family Hub™ is more than a fridge – it is a new way of living

There’s no denying that the birth of artificial intelligence has created a lifestyle only a few would have imagined a century ago. Smartwatches that serve as coaches on our wrists and everyday assistants, and smart appliances that create the perfect ambience at home. It has reached a stage where it’s safe to say we share a certain level of intimacy with the tech in our lives. Upping the ante of this very aspect is Samsung’s ace new product, the Samsung SpaceMax Family Hub™.

Adding a new link in the AI chain and striving for an unprecedented level of connectivity within the home is the Samsung SpaceMax Family Hub™ refrigerator. Part of the brand’s Internet of Things (IoT) portfolio, here’s a fridge that goes light years beyond its traditional role. The Samsung SpaceMax Family Hub™ is a lifestyle choice, an integrated product that seeks to change the way you live. Designed to revolutionise homes, it makes your home an extended living space from where you can control various aspects of the home. Want to watch your favourite show while you cook? Check. Set a timer on the washing machine? Check. Want a digital assistant chef? Check. The SpaceMax Family Hub™ allows for all these and more while packing every top spec of a smart refrigerator, including being energy efficient. Ingenious, right?

But let’s actually count all the ways in which the SpaceMax Family Hub™ is set to turn our lives around.

Your living space is your new entertainment hub

The massive 54.61 cm (21.5-inch) FHD touch screen display on the refrigerator is where most of the magic happens. While directly connecting you with other smart appliances in your home, including smartphones, you can stream your favourite show and mirror it onto the refrigerator’s screen. With built-in 25-watt speakers, you can also groove to your favourite tunes via Gaana and Spotify music apps as you whip up brunch, not to mention Samsung’s AI-enabled voice assistant Bixby opens up unlimited possibilities.

Busy cooking? Your refrigerator doubles up as a connector

If you also own one of Samsung’s super-smart FlexWash washing machines, you can control every spin and rinse right on the Family Hub’s touch screen. And if you find making and receiving calls while cooking just as irksome as the next person, the SpaceMax Family Hub™ can seamlessly connect to your smartphone via Bluetooth, letting you take hands-free calls.

Meet your new in-house chef

One of our favourite features of the SpaceMax Family Hub™ is the Meal Planner — it never lets you hit a creative roadblock in the kitchen. It can recommend recipes based on dietary preferences and what’s in stock in your fridge. You can even create a shopping list of ingredients you’ll need for new dishes, or you’d like to try out. Going on that Keto diet doesn’t sound that tough anymore, does it?

Your fridge is set to be the most stylish accessory in your home

The new SpaceMax Family Hub™ scores in the design department as well. A sleek and seamless form, it features elegant flat doors with recessed handles, and a counter-depth design to help fit in any space. Its inside walls are much thinner, which means more storage space without increasing external dimensions. The refrigerator can be installed without the need for plumbing; boasts of up to 50% energy saving (based on internal testing using the ISO 15502 standard) and through Samsung’s SmartThings app, provides ‘door open’ notifications. A detail we love: The refrigerator does not catch fingerprints stains.

Manage your food requirements in a whole new way

With a cool new feature called ‘Food Management’, you can check the SpaceMax Family Hub™ to see if you are stocked up on favourite snacks, without opening the door. A built-in camera installed on the inside gives a complete picture of every food and ingredient in your SpaceMax Family Hub™ refrigerator. Say you’re at the grocer’s and want to check in your fridge if you’re running low on something. Using the SmartThings app, you can look inside the refrigerator remotely as well. There’s also the option to make shopping lists, food memos, digitally label food with expiration dates, and set reminders so that you don’t forget to stock up on your favourite food.

Missed those ‘To-do notes’? Here’s a top-notch digital version

Just because we’re stepping into the future of refrigeration doesn’t mean we let go of old charms. We’ve all done it — left to-do notes on our fridge for pending house chores, and stuck family pictures and artwork to it. Thanks to the big screen on the SpaceMax Family Hub™, you can post photos, hand-drawn pictures, typed or hand-written notes, and more on it. And through the ‘Family Connection’ feature on the touchscreen, family members can also sync schedules, share pictures, and text each other.

SpaceMax Family Hub™ fridge

While the Samsung SpaceMax Family Hub™ goes far beyond the horizons of contemporary smart refrigeration, SpaceMax technology enables to retain the original space-yet-spacious dimensions inside (657-litres) while offering so much more. With a sleek dispenser, it provides three options: Crushed ice, ice, and water. It’s available in Premium Black Matt finish with counter-depth design and priced at Rs 1,96,990. It is currently available for e-bookings at Samsung’s e-store, Flipkart, Reliance Digital, Croma, and Vijay Sales. The cherry on top: Get a complimentary Samsung Galaxy Note10 Lite (Rs 37,999) and 10% cashback.
