Huawei aces the smartphone photography league with the debut of the ‘Mate 20 pro’ featuring three camera lenses on a single smartphone. Exclusive to Amazon Prime members, Huawei’s newest smartphone will be up for grabs from today, December 3rd for Prime members for a day before opening the sale to the general public. The smartphone is a set apart because of a few unique features – a triple lens camera, a first-of-its-kind 7nm HiSilicon Kirin 980 SoC and an in-display fingerprint sensor, all running on an Android 9.0 Pie.
Not just that, the phone comes in two variants – a 128 GB and 256 GB that spreads over 6 GB and 8 GB of RAM, respectively. With RAM that could out-do a computer, the device runs on a sturdy Octo-Core processor which could have done a better job considering Huawei’s capabilities. Packing a 7nm HiSilicon Kirin 980 SoC, the Mate 20 Pro holds one of the smartest AI chips in the market. The smartphone also comes with dual SIM capabilities and screen resolution of 1440 pixels by 3120 pixels. Its core selling-point, the Leica triple rear camera operates with a primary 40-megapixel wide angle lens with f/1.8 aperture, a 20-megapixel ultra-wide-angle sensor with f/2.2 aperture, and then a third 8-megapixel 3X telephoto sensor with an aperture of f/2.4 that makes for a prodigious set of smartphone tech. Not just that, you also have a 24-megapixel RGB camera with face recognition adding to its second security variant. There is a 4,200mAh battery under the hood, with support for 40W SuperCharge technology.
The device will be exclusively sold on Amazon with a Rs. 70,000* price-tag, an absolute steal for this level of hardware. If smartphone photography is a weekend passion for you, we’d pitch this alongside the Samung Galaxy A7 or the Google Pixel 3, as far as camera capabilities are concerned. Huawei does strive towards an innovative barrier-breaking brand principle, and with the Mate 20 Pro, they’re definitely raising the bar.
