Just a year ago, Louis Vuitton made its foray into the audio market with the launch of its own wireless earphones and the world went gaga over them. This year, they have revamped their signature Horizon Earphones with a brand-new look and fresh features, making it stand head and shoulders with existing giants in the audio tech industry. If you thought the Apple Airpods Pro were a status symbol, you haven’t met these babies yet.
Priced at 1,090 USD (Rs. 78,169 approx), these new earphones are characterised by round metal disc bearing the iconic Louis Vuitton logo or monogram. The earbuds come in five colourways — jet black, pristine white, bright red, pink and neon yellow — all marrying the sleek and the striking. It isn’t just the earbuds themselves that have a facelift either. The charging case comes in a new graphite shade which mirrors the design of its Tambour Horizon smartwatch.
The audio technology is designed in collaboration with New York-based audio brand Master & Dynamic, so these earphones are not just all looks and no substance. The Horizon Earphones 2.0 now comes with an active noise-cancelling mode to decrease external noise and an ambient listening mode to stay aware while listening to your favourite tunes. The upgrade also sees a list of improved features like an increase in battery life to 30 hours, wireless charging, double microphones in each earphone, and a more precise LED battery indicator readout on the charging case.
