Our brands

Looking at the versatile filmography of Diana Penty one can easily concur that range is her strong suit.  She has straddled the roles of a chic, city girl as Mira in Cocktail, a vivacious Happy in Happy Bhag Jayegi, and an army officer in Parmanu with equal panache. The same versatility filters down in her fashion graph as well. There is hardly any red carpet look that Diana Penty gets wrong. Gaurav Gupta’s sculpted gowns, exquisite Sabyasachi numbers, tulle skirts by Anita Dongre all align together to define Penty’s eclectic style.

She cuts a perfect frame in tailored pant-suits and skirts. What makes her red carpet trajectory interesting is her inclusion of brands; from AM: PM to Ridhi Mehra to Anamika Khanna, Penty believes in embracing different labels to enhance new looks. Taking Penty’s admiration for fashion further is her latest association with Australian high-street brand Forever New. “It feels great to be associated with a brand that stands for eternal beauty and confidence, and is the perfect representation of a modern woman,” said Penty.

We spoke to Diana Penty on her role as Forever New’s brand ambassador, personal style, and the fashion icons that inspire her.

On her association with Forever New

I’ve been shopping from Forever New since the time I was in college, so it feels great to be associated with a brand. They have something for everybody and for every occasion; classic, chic and stylish. You always feel good when you’re in Forever New. So it’s been exciting and I’m really looking forward to our association together.

On her personal style

I’m a very minimalistic kind of dresser and if you go through my wardrobe you’ll definitely see that – clean lines, structured, and straight cuts. I’ve got a lot of black along with white, beige, grey and neutrals. I tend to gravitate towards darker and more classic colours and silhouettes. But I’m also all about comfort, so you’ll see a lot of comfortable wear like denims in different styles, cuts & fits, basic t-shirts, shirts. I have a lot of sneakers and flats, but also heels because it elevates any look instantly.

On fashion rules, she swears by

Definitely keep in mind your personality – I feel it’s important to bring your personality into your style. It’s also important to keep in mind your body type. Have fun with fashion. Play with it and be comfortable.

On her current favourite fashion trends

I’m definitely crushing on utility chic – all things utility like pants, skirts, and jackets and I really love big chunky utility jackets.

On her classic pieces that she never travels without

I always travel with one of my favourite trench coats. It’s a very classic piece and goes with everything and it even dresses up a look. It comes in handy a lot depending on the weather. I also have this really warm shawl in a ‘biscuit’ colour which again goes with everything, it keeps me warm as well as looks super stylish. I never travel without a pair of really cool sneakers.

On fashion icons she admires

My mom would definitely be one of my fashion & style icons. She’s always been extremely stylish, it’s something I’ve always looked up to and admired. She’s also been very classic and minimalistic in her dressing so I think a little rubbed off on me. Another style icon would be Kate Moss. She is my all-time fashion & style icon. It’s amazing how she’s so effortless, chic and always well turned-out. She’s someone I’ve always looked up to since I was very young. More recently I would also say, Kendall Jenner. She’s one of those people who can pull off any look and make anything look amazing.
