Stylist Aastha Sharma on all the fashion you will see in ‘Four More Shots Please! Season 2′

With the extended lockdown, now you have one more series to add to your binge-watch list since ‘Four More Shots Please 2’ is out on Amazon Prime Video. For many, the four characters in the show Anjana (played by Kirti Kulhari), Siddhi’s (Maanvi Gagroo) Damini’s (Sayani Gupta) and Umang (Bani J) might sum up a perfect squad of fun-loving friends but for us what stands out is their sense of style.

Even in season 1, their on-screen chemistry seemed to perfectly weave together their chic and colourful fashion choices. So for anyone whose planning to shop post-lockdown and needs inspiration, ‘Four More Shots Please 2’ has enough jumpsuits, saris and designer dresses, homegrown and international that will give you some major wardrobe goals.

And there are cues on how to keep your sartorial game strong while attending a wedding and travelling. We got stylist Aastha Sharma (who has worked with the likes of Aishwarya Rai) to give us a complete lowdown on how ‘Four More Shots Please 2’ is upping the ante on fashion.

On what’s in store for fashion lovers in ‘Four More Shots Please 2’

In season 1, we were still establishing the characters, so fashion played a major role in defining them. But in season 2, we have tried to keep their style more relatable while keeping the fashion quotient high. Siddhi is a South Bombay girl who has toned up now and works as a professional standup comedian, so we gave her look an overhaul. Damini is writing a book in season 2, so her look is more matured and toned down. Anjana’s power suit game has been elevated, and Umang’s love for everything athleisure is more pronounced this season.

On what does each characters’ style game say about them

I think Umang is fearless as per her fashion choices, Damini is fierce, she faces a lot of challenges in season 2, and her outfits align very well with her character. Anjana channels a powerful woman in season 2, she becomes a partner in a law firm, so its tailored power suits for her. And Siddhi is playful and keeps her love for colours alive.

On every characters’ style and designers that were involved

We have worked with Amit Aggarwal, Rahul Mishra, Papa Don’t Preach, Namrata Joshipura, Rohit Gandhi and Rahul Khanna. Besides this, we have also customised a lot of outfits.

Sidhi loves to dress up, so you will see a lot of colours, sequins, A-line dresses with deep necklines and off-shoulder pieces. She loves to accessorize so one can see headpieces and statement bags from Dior, Gucci, and Prada.

Umag, who is a gym instructor, can be seen slipping into statement activewear pieces and iterations of denim.  We have worked with Nike, Fila, Puma, ASOS, and REVOLVE, and there are some dope sneakers too.

Anjana flaunts a lot of power suits, of course, we have reimagined the concept via a spectrum of colours. Imagine fuchsia bottle green and blues. Since she is a lawyer, we have also given her a spectrum of skirts, which are fun and classic.

Damini, who is working from home in season 2, can play a major inspiration for viewers now. You can see her in shorts, off-shoulder knits, night suits by Samyukta Nair’s label Dandelion. Besides this, there is a wedding sequence, for which we closely worked with Rahul Mishra, Ridhi Mehra, and Dolly J.

It was while studying fashion journalism at London College of Fashion that Anupam developed a keen interest in the anthropological aspect of the discipline; for him, fashion only makes sense when seen in the context of its environment. He is always on the hunt for great stories, and in his spare time binge-watches films/shows starring Whoopi Goldberg, Dawn French and Jennifer Saunders.
