From Shahid Kapoor to Sidharth Malhotra, if there is anyone who has been pinning up the dapper men from Tinseltown, it is Kunal Rawal. When it comes to menswear, Rawal is more than just a basics guy. Be it his Gen-Z inspired kurtas, vests 2.0 or his ability to loop in metal with fabrics, Rawal’s understanding of menswear silhouettes extends beyond the standard and it is his this specialization that he is now bringing to Delhi as well.
Rawal is all set to open his first store at DLF Emporio in New Delhi. Every nook-and-corner of the space exudes his element; minimal, classic yet futuristic, that’s how one can sum up his store. Designed by Mumbai based architect and interior designer Rooshad Shroff, the 540 sq ft space comprises of details such as conveyor belt for the dramatic display of the garments, rustic gold embellishing on the floors and the entrance door resembling that of a gothic palace.
Rawal’s non-conformist and multi-functional approach filters down in his contemporary design sensibility and philosophy. Think needle-pleated vests with kurtas, intricately embroidered sherwanis, separates with quirky messages emblazoned on them, this all comes to define his design aesthetic. In case you want to veer away from the whole, formal groom look? There are plenty of quirky, color-blocked kurtas that can easily be paired with jeans and sneakers. Just in case you are looking for a complete look, there is a sort after selection of edgy footwear as well.
“There has been no better time for expanding the label across the country. Delhi is so rich with its fashion and I couldn’t be happier to extend my vision to this city with the new store as there’s so much I’d like to offer to the clients with my designs” says Rawal. “The new store aims to cater to men across age groups and their diverse styles, and DLF Emporio is the perfect destination that resonates with the aesthetic & DNA of the brand. I am excited to be here!”
