Our brands

As we wrap up another year and a grand decade of style and extravagance, we must also realize that men are not who they used to be in the affairs of style. Spring-Summer 2020 will be the first menswear season of the new decade and we can see how far we’ve evolved if we compare it to this time, last decade. The last few years have been about refreshing  yet deconstructing the traditional silhouettes like a suit into a a retro-futuristic silhouette. As we begin another decade of style, we’ve kept inventory of the coolest menswear trends in recent times and these are the ones that will rule the next year.

    Cross-Body Bags
    Ermenegildo Zegna SS20

Call it a purse, or ‘murse’, when it came to accessorizing in 2019, the internet obsessed about two odd themes – fanny packs and over-sized bags and we don’t know why. It’s high time we see a new men’s accessory. Something small, compact and that comes with some utility. The cross-body bag takes roots from our nostalgic utility-driven carrier from the ’90s that came back as a menswear vogue in 2019 in the form of an elegant accessory. Even off the runways, it works as an excellent everyday essential and a cool summer accessory to jazz up a look.

    Super-soft satin everyday suits
    Balmain Homme SS20

As far as spring and early summer goes, light-weight and classy throw-overs are a must-have in every wardrobe. Being a key staple in Louis Vuitton, Zegna and Dior Winter ’19 collections, it’s high time we see summer layering in everyday life. If stitched in appropriate fabrics like satin or silk, it could be a great piece for spring and early summer 2020.

    Supersized jackets and shirts
    Moshino AW19

Take it back to the ‘80s with an oversized blazer. Large and in-charge, put a twist on the essential suit jacket by taking it up a few sizes. Whether it be a pinstripe or a solid, this is a great way to put a retro spin on a modern outfit without looking too formal. Choose a fit that’s slightly bigger than the regular fit or go all out with something massive. It recieved massive acclaim in 2018 and 2019 and we’re expecting it to prevail into 2020 as well.

    Pinstripes will takeover
    BOSS AW19

Last summer, athleisure suiting made a welcome return to the world’s runways in the most classic forms possible (black, grey, double-breasted). Now, for SS20, a few of the more dynamic tailoring styles are making a comeback. In this case? Pinstripe. Once favored by bankers and businessmen, for SS20 the fabric feels contemporary and chic, worked – as it was – into wraparound suits at Dolce & Gabbana, Emporio Armani and Chalayan. Undoubtedly one of the most timeless menswear trends.

    Nostalgic Athleisure
    Dior Pre-Fall ’19

Call it ‘retro-futurism’ or ‘future nostalgia’, streetstyle is almost synonymous with old-school silhouettes at this point. We see this in our tees, sneakers and their fits as well. It’s one of those menswear trends that consistently resurface with a new avatar. First, the retro runners, then puffy jackets and now accessories too. We’d definitely see more of this in 2020, the fusion of suiting and athleisure could be a brilliant theme for this to extend towards as well.
