Bollywood’s biggest night saw the best of movies and fashion. Here is our edit of the Filmfare Awards red carpet best dressed.

India’s answer to the Oscars, the 65th Filmfare Awards were recently held in Guwahati, Assam. The annual ceremony, honouring the best of big screen, saw some of the biggest names from Bollywood dressed to the nines. While the ladies graced the red carpet in voluminous gowns and chiffon trains, men weren’t far behind. Looking sharp in tuxedos and tailored suits, they made a solid statement. From Alia Bhatt’s exquisite gown to Ranveer Singh’s jacket with padded shoulders, we sum up some of the best looks from Filmfare Awards red carpet.

Alia Bhatt never lets her style guards down and the recent Filmfare Awards cemented the fact. Her stylist Ami Patel roped in a breezy dual-toned Georges Hobeika  gown giving us major thigh-high slit, off-shoulder, and dramatic sleeve moment. With so many elements seamlessly tied together, Bhatt was a red carpet winner.

Ranveer Singh, be it on the big screen or on the red carpet, remains true to drama. At the Filmfare red carpet, he opted for a suit by London-based menswear designer Kaushik Valendra. If you thought padded shoulders were good just for Beyonce, think twice.

Radhika Apte is a new fashion superstar in the making. At the Filmfare red carpet, it was Dior for her. The simplicity of her maxi gown featuring a spectrum of hues was rather captivating. We’d say Apte’s knack for making a statement on the red carpet is evolving. How can we every forget her iconic Iris Van Herpen moment?

Bhumi Pednekar in Gaby Charbachy

Another Bollywood favourtie who has been serving serious fashion goals on the red carpet is Bhumi Pednekar. Not only did she pick up her Filmfare for Best Actor in lead role (female) but her red, multi-layered, strapless gown by Gaby Charbachy was everything. Those feathered details on the bustier are high fashion goals.

Veering away from her usual love for colour, Mouni Roy slipped into a white, off-shoulder gown by Karleo. That tulle train with crystal embellished detailing adds a lot of character to the gown.

When it comes to menswear in Bollywood, one star to look up to is Kartik Aaryan. It was sneakers with a Dior suit for Kartik Aaryan. The satin grey shirt with a casual, slouchy blazer and throw is a perfect punch of casual style to this otherwise formal ensemble.

Normally seen in funky parka jackets and mostly off-duty staples, Varun Dhawan took a detour from everything casual and instead slipped into a purple blazer and a pair of black trousers. What’s not to love?
