At the Salon Internationale de la Haute Horlogerie, Parmigiani Fleurier unveiled its $3,60,000 Toric Capitole capsule, a timepiece inspired by Roman architecture and fused with modern craftsmanship. While the timepiece seemed like a work of art, this was de riguer for Fleurier. Today, this Swiss watchmaker’s expansive stride has reached India once again, in absolute exclusivity with Ethos Watches. Parmigiani Fleurier’s timepieces will now be made available in at least five India’s metros, with prices of Rs 7,00,000 onwards.
Parmigiani Fleurier roots go back more than half a century to the Swiss valley of Val-de-Travers. Named after the founder and watch connoisseur, Michel Parmigiani, the brand strives to not only craft timepieces that are rich in technical skills, but also in master craftsmanship. Inspired heavily from European history and Swiss heritage, this watchmaker constantly aims to revive and preserve traditional design and technique with modern treatments. The Kalpa, Tonda, and Toric collections would be apt examples of their vision.
“The Indian market for our brand is very unexplored and we identified this opportunity to venture out to a new territory and make investments in India. The watchmaking market is more stable today, and there’ll be obvious challenges along the way while growing and expanding, but with a brand like ours with some very sturdy roots, we can face the future head on,” says Davide Traxler, CEO, Parmigiani Fleurier. “In Ethos, we have found the right partner and we are delighted to start this exciting journey with them.”
“The increase in demand for luxury watches among Indian customers has become very evident of late,” says Pranav Saboo, CEO, Ethos Watch Boutiques. “Parmigiani Fleurier is an exclusive brand that offers something truly unique to customers. Their legacy and craftsmanship is par excellence and I am extremely fond of their exquisite timepieces. It is a proud moment for us and we look forward to being an extension of the brand by representing them in India.”
Their most notable timepieces in recent years have been the Parmigiani Fleurier Tonda 1950 tourbillon, a rose gold case enriched with 51 diamonds totalling 1.83 carats; the Bugatti Type 390, a timepiece designed to evoke the body of the thunderous Bugatti W16 engine and graced with a tourbillon; and the The Tonda 1950 Squelette, a skeletal masterpiece powered by an ultra-thin PF707 calibre and the Ovale Tourbillon. These would be our top picks from Parmigiani Fleurier’s fleet of opulent timepieces.
