Hopping between luxury resorts in a private jet – that’s the kind of indulgence that speaks to us. So when we heard of Minor Hotels’ Anantara Private Jet Experience, it’s only fit that we find out all we can about this luxe way of life. Spread across three of India’s favourite holiday destinations – Maldives, Sri Lanka and Thailand, we speak about this trip across the Indian Ocean with Marion Walsh Hedouin.
Embarking in Bangkok, guests can travel between Anantara Siam, Bangkok, Anantara Peace Haven Tangalle, Sri Lanka and Anantara Kihavah Villas, Maldives. We’ve partnered with MJets, the boutique aviation brand, to enable guests to enjoy the private Gulfstream V or Cessna Citation X and curate bespoke holidays. Other than these three countries, the said experience can be customised for any of the 39 destination we’re in.

Anantara was created to encapsulate the excitement of discovery and exploration that comes with entering new territory. Guests can enjoy journeys that couple serenity and exoticism with indigenous charm, creating experiences which celebrate each distinctive destination in all its natural beauty and cultural allure.
Taking forward the philosophy of ‘destination experience’, we decided to introduce a new level of luxury coupled with the excitement of discovery which fits within the timeframe of today’s time-strapped travellers.
Thailand, Maldives and Sri Lanka are three iconic destinations which offer very different, but equally exotic experiences. Bangkok is known for its vibrant street life and elaborate shrines, Sri Lanka is hailed for its cultural heritage and coconut fringed shores, whilst the Maldives’ myriad of blue tones is second to none in natural beauty. Bringing these three destinations together into one seamless trip was a great way of showcasing the incredible trips that are possible.

Behind the scenes and at the forefront, we work tirelessly to preserve the amazing destinations we call home. In the Maldives, coral adoption is close to our hearts and we invite our guests to join in and help regrow the reef after the terrible El Nino effect of 2016 which resulted in the demise of 60 percent of the coral. In Sri Lanka we encourage guests to participate in the turtle rescue and release programme, which takes place on the beach adjacent to the resort. There are many more such experiences which have a direct impact on the conservation of the destinations where we are located.
The idea that it can be completely customised. We have a suggested itinerary of exotic destinations, but should guests wish to travel to the verdant mountains of the Golden Triangle in Thailand, the unspoiled beauty of Quy Nhon in Vietnam, the skyline of Dubai or the limestone cliffs of Uluwatu, Bali, each experience can be designed to capture the individual soul and culture of its precious locale – and all within easy reach with the private jet experience.
