Helping out with the current pandemic are these hotels that are open for COVID-19 quarantine as well as medical professionals.
In support of the government and the community, the TATA Group recently pledged Rs 1,500 crore for the fight against coronavirus. Adding to this, they also opened their hotels to provide support for the same.
The iconic Taj Mahal Palace is now offering its premises for medical health practitioners, free of cost. Not just this, but six other properties across the country will be offering these service — Taj Lands End, Taj Santacruz, The President, Ginger MIDC Andheri, and Ginger Madgaon in Mumbai, and Ginger Noida in the Delhi NCR region.
This decision has come at a time when health professionals are being attacked by mobs due to the spread of misinformation regarading COVID-19. The Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) that runs Taj Hotels has stated, “During these trying times, we are keenly aware of our responsibility towards our community. As a reflection of our commitment, beginning today, we are offering rooms for the medical fraternity to stay while they combat the spread of the virus.”
Earlier, Anand Mahindra of the Mahindra Group had also said that he’d be happy to turn their resorts – Mahindra Holiday Resorts – into quarantine facilities as and when needed. The non-hospitality arm of his group is also helping with medical equipment such as ventilators and face protectors.
In times like these, when everyone is simply trying to cope, it’s nice to see the bigwigs of the corporate world coming forward to help the community.
