We’ve been stalking Delhi-based content creator Tejeshwar Sandhoo on Instagram for a while now and can safely say that his edgy style is on point. A leading male digital influencer in India, Sandhoo’s blog (@blueberryblackout) is a reflection of his unique Indo-chic style, peppered with a grunge vibe at times. What does stand out though is his love for sneakers. A quick scroll through his feed will show you the season’s trendiest kicks, effortlessly paired with outfits.

“I will admit that I am a sneakerhead, as my collection comprises over 60 per cent of sneakers. That said, I was rather late to the game with the whole sneakerhead concept. My obsession started when I was in high school with my first pair of Puma suede sneakers, which my aunt got me from London. There was no looking back after that,” says Sandhoo, who currently has about 80 pairs in his collection.

The blogger, whose content spans a range of topics, from inclusivity and confidence to grooming and cars, says that sneakers are a way of showing people who he is, a means of self-expression. “My daily clothing is quite regular, nothing over the top. You’d see me in a white T-shirt and torn jeans, but I’ll sport a pair of yellow or orange sneakers. In my daily looks, there is always one thing, that will stand out.”

While Sandhoo’s sneaker collection includes most major brands and cult favourites, he admits that he leans towards his Puma and Fila kicks. “The prized possessions of my collection have got to be the Puma RS-X series. This launched about two years ago and I totally dig the bright pastel, orange, pink, blue and yellow, combinations. I currently own five variants of the RS-X collection,” he says.

What is Sandhoo’s motive behind his sneaker collection? “I love to wear accessible things, both in terms of style and price. There are a lot of young people who follow me and look up to me for this reason. I feel the need to tell them that if they find a good pair of sneakers, which they like, it does not necessarily have to be something expensive. It needs to send out a message of your style and what you stand for as a person.”
