Life doesn’t stop just because we’re confined to our homes – you can still look at pretty things, like these new Sephora makeup releases.
For Spring/Summer 2020, we’re seeing plenty of new makeup releases from Sephora Malaysia that are shimmery, celebrate glowing skin, and go back to the basics. Think neutral eyeshadow palettes, glowing concealers, classic lipsticks, and more. We’re even throwing in a few colourful items just because the summer season calls for a bright splash, despite major music festival cancellations.
So keep calm, stay indoors, and fire up your internet – it’s time to do some online shopping with these new Sephora makeup releases. We’ve shortlisted 10 of our favourites to save you the trouble of endless scrolling.
American beauty brands are known for doing endless collaborations with its local beauty influencers – Amrezy is one of them, boasting over 5.9 million followers on Instagram and an enviable eyeshadow blending skill. She collaborates with Anastasia Beverly Hills for an Amrezy Palette featuring 16 all-new shades that Amrezy apparently can’t live without. Don’t let the bright shades scare you – it’s actually really versatile, allowing you to create classic nude looks, rose-toned eye makeup looks, and even a smoky eyeshadow look.
Becca’s newest Light Shifting Brightening Concealer is an airbrush-like concealer that utilises the brand’s light shifting pigments to instantly brighten the complexion. Apply it to the high parts of your facial structure – cheekbones, brow bones, and nose bridge – to really bring out its luminosity. Meanwhile, we’re in love with the lightweight formula that’s infused with hyaluronic acid, green tea, and crystalised liquorice. There are eight shades from light to dark for every skin tone out there.
No one wants to use a dry matte lipstick that drags on your lips anymore. Now, it’s all about the moisturising, matte-finish lipstick. The Dear Dahlia Lip Paradise Effortless Matte Lipstick offers precisely that with a weightless, moisture-matte formula. As Dear Dahlia is a vegan beauty brand, you’ll find that the lipstick is enriched with an Ecocert and Cosmos-certified organic oil, while a high concentration of pigments give off a high-intensity colour to your lips.
From Hourglass’ popular Vanish base makeup range comes a new Airbrush Concealer, determined to blur out any imperfections you want to hide with “full, undetectable coverage”. It has a weightless, yet creamy formula that promises to sink in naturally, while its microspherical powders fill in lines for a smooth and even application. Even the applicator has been custom designed with a flexibility that can hug contours for more precision. The concealer is long-wearing, crease-resistant, waterproof, vegan, and cruelty-free – what more can you ask for?
Two releases from the newly-vegan and rebranded KVD Vegan Beauty should capture your attention: the brand’s first lip gloss collection as well as a high-intensity blush. The XO Vinyl Lip Cream is an extremely pigmented lip gloss that promises high-shine and a full-coverage colour in six shades. Meanwhile, the Everlasting Blush is an extension of the brand’s Everlasting series featuring a pigmented blush with a soft matte finish that will last throughout the day. It is also available in six rosy shades.
Marc Jacobs Beauty’s Spring 2020 releases are gorgeous, but we particularly love three: the Re(cover) Hydrating Coconut Lip Oil, Glow Away Bronzing Coconut Body Stick, and the Eye-conic Multi-Finish Eyeshadow Palette in Fantascene.
Adding on to the brand’s popular coconut series is the new Re(cover) Hydrating Coconut Lip Oil during a time where lip oils are the current it thing. This clear lip oil is infused with five forms of coconut and Vitamin E for the most nourished, kissable pout. You’ll need it after all the matte lipsticks you have on.
As for the Glow Away Bronzing Coconut Body Stick, it’s perfect for the summer, whether you’ve tanned yourself or not. If it’s the former, add on to the glow with this creamy glow stick. If it’s the latter, fake it anyway with this new product. It comes in three different shades: Tan-Tastic! for light skin tones; Tantric for medium skin tones; and Tantalize for deep skin tones.
Finally, the Eye-conic Multi-Finish Eyeshadow Palette in Fantascene is back for Spring 2020. This soft pink nude eye shadow palette is perfect for some natural eye looks and comes in seven shades with four finishes: matte velvet, shimmering satin, sparkling silk, and metallic lamé.
The spring and summer seasons are always about lip gloss, and Pat McGrath Labs doesn’t disappoint. The OpuLust Gloss is certainly lust-worthy with its multidimensional sparkle and glassy finish. It has a luxurious and cushion-like texture that sits well on the lips without feeling too tacky. It’s also formulated with an advanced phyto-endorphin complex that claims to elevate your mood while offering antioxidant and moisturising properties.
Over at Sephora Collection this season, it’s all about the glow. From eyeshadow palettes to foundations, all of Sephora’s in-house brand products are designed to bring out your inner goddess. Out of all the releases, we have three of our favourites: the Must-Have Glow Palette, Feline Instinct Wild Nude Edition, and Lip Honeys Colorful Gloss Balm.
The Must-have Glow Palette is a multipurpose highlighting face palette comprising four universal glowing shades with lightweight, buildable textures. Do a monochromatic makeup look by using the same shade for your eyelids, cheek bones, and lips – it’s that versatile.
Then, we have the Feline Instinct Wild Nude Edition. This rich nude eyeshadow palette has a catchy leopard print case with 12 shades in matte and metallic finishes. We envision a nude smoky look with the vibrant metallic shades in this palette.
True to summer fashion, there’s also a lip gloss this season. The Lip Honeys Colorful Gloss Balm is infused with honey extract for the ultimate nourishment with a glassy finish and five translucent nude shades. It’s your perfect summer accessory.
Following on from the immense success of the Tarte Shape Tape concealer, the brand is releasing a new product – the Shape Tape Glow Wand, a vegan liquid brightener that acts as a muted highlighter. Tarte recommends using it over your concealer, on the high points of the face, mixed with base makeup for a glowing finish, or on collarbones and the décolletage. It has a double-ended applicator: a wand and a removable sponge for different types of application.
By now, you’ll have realised a trend – brands banking on the success of their cult products with new extensions. From the popularity of Too Faced’s Born This Way Foundation comes the eyeshadow palette version, inspired by a flawless complexion. The palette features 16 all-new, pigmented ‘modern nude’ shades in matte, metallic, shimmery, and sparkly finishes. It’s a beautiful palette that’s also good for you, infused with coconut water, alpine rose, and hyaluronic acid.
