It’s time to bid summer goodbye and start prepping for the decadent shades of autumn. Summer is the season of bright eyeshadow looks, glossed and plumped lips, holographic highlighter shades and an all matte effect to your skin. Now comes a new season where we will be seeing some looks transiting over, but doesn’t mean we can’t include new ones to the list of makeup trends to try.
Dark-hued lipsticks are always the crowd’s favourite when it comes to autumn, but like the leaves that turn orange this season, there is definitely a calling for burnt orange shades — no matter on the eyes, lips or cheeks. Highlighters may still shine but now it’s time for the warm-toned ones to make an appearance. From frosty white to warm gold bronze, these also apply to eyeshadows. If you are not into safe neutral browns, jewel tones that are inspired by the 80s are also making a return — according to Marc Jacobs Beauty.
While we can’t see ourselves changing our base from matte to dewy, Laura Mercier‘s new setting powder gives us both. A matte base but still want a little more shine, the new Translucent Loose Setting Powder Glow is your calling. With the incoming flurry of dark vampy lips, here’s your chance to keep everything else bare and only amp up your lashes to complete the fall look.
With all of the above in mind, it’s time to create your perfect fall makeup looks with these products below.

There are nine highly pigmented matte and shimmers in a palette to give you the flexibility to create an array of looks. There are four colour themes available — Mauve Obsessions, Electric Obsessions, Smokey Obsessions but Warm Brown Obsessions palette is the one for fall because of its warm-toned colours.
With the same Shu Uemura Rouge Unlimited’s highly pigmented formula, they’ve recently launched the Burnt Orange collection that sees three new satin and matte editions that are all warm tones. It’s light and best for reapplication, with double hybrid pigment technology for the boldest colour. This Burnt Orange shade is our favourite among others.
When purely matte, shimmer or satin eyeshadows just don’t cut it, here comes a multi-chrome one. This new Bobbi Brown eyeshadow gives an ultimate 3D effect when applied on the lids, so you’re not just seeing one colour but plentiful. It gives up to eight hours of wear, crease and fade proof.
The glossy lips trend may transition over from summer with this new release. In conjunction with Fenty Beauty’s 1st anniversary, Rihanna expended the ever-popular universal lip gloss with this new Diamond Milk shade. It gives a shimmering wash of pearl when applied, that looks like a dewy highlight for your lips.
Highlight your cheekbones with this blinding one from Kat Von D Beauty. It contains hyper-reflective glitter for amplified dimension, sparkling at every angle in person and in pictures. There’s no need to worry about the formula creasing, its liquid-powder texture ensures that it goes on smoothly and blends out seamlessly. This Gravitron is a metallic buttery pink with pink and gold glitter.
If you can’t decide if you want your base to be matte or glowy, this stick foundation from By Terry is a balance of both. Its half-foundation and half-highlighter feature gives sheer to medium coverage. The formula contains a Mimetic Camouflage Technology that mimics the appearance of flawless skin thanks to its correcting prisms. Just apply and blend with the integrated blending sponge on the end.
A first in the market, this sequin eyeshadow in a pot gives you high impact colour like no other. These dark glimmering jewel tones were inspired by the runway, and with just a single swipe on the lids will give you pigment and colour like no other. There are two shades available, Blitz Glitz, a blackened violet, and Topaz Flash, a smoky bronze colour.
