Beauty bandwagon: How to wear Ultra Violet on Asian skin tones

Waiting for the announcement of Pantone’s Colour of the Year seems like a yearly ritual. It was during the year 2016 where not one but two colours were selected: Rose Quartz and Serenity. 2017’s was refreshing Greenery while Ultra Violet reigns supreme for 2018.

Already, beauty, fashion, even lifestyle brands are pushing their Ultra Violet shades out into the market to ring in business. A notable beauty product that suits the theme was Fenty Beauty’s Unicorn shade (Rihanna was right on track) and people seem to love how unique this purple-blue shade is.

With those products flying off the shelves and many more Ultra Violet shades coming in, people across the globe are incorporating them into their look. But how does that work for Asian skin tones?

There is more than just a single Ultra Violet shade (thankfully). Some may be more purple, while others may lean towards the blue shades. Others yet may have warmer undertones suited for olive and darker skin tones.

The key to matching Ultra Violet to Asian skin tones is not by the shade but the undertone, to yours. Warmer undertones will suit darker Ultra Violet shades, while blue undertone can go as light as lavender shades or any that has iridescent blue glitter.

We’ve listed down 5 different makeup products, from eyes to lips with multiple undertones that will suit any skin tone. Time to get ‘Pantone colour of the Year’ on your face.
