Ready your credit cards — this month’s new beauty products are a gorgeous bunch.
They say money can’t buy happiness, but we think they just don’t know where to look. If you want to prove that statement wrong, all you have to do is take a look at our list below. This month, we have an interesting mix of new beauty products for you to covet.
If you like pure indulgence when it comes to skincare, then La Prairie’s Pure Gold collection should be your pick. History of Whoo and Burberry have also debuted gorgeous cushion foundations that feel as luxurious as they look. As for suncare, we have not one, but two for you to choose from. More on these below.
La Prairie is infusing both sustainability and luxury into one with its Pure Gold collection. Harnessing the power of gold, La Prairie improves its efficacy on skin with an ingenious Pure Gold Diffusion System, which works in a three-peak action sequence. Upon application, you can immediately see gold particles on the skin’s surface, lending instant radiance to the skin. Over the course of a few hours, the ingredients will peak again, replenishing active ingredients on the skin.
Within the collection you’ll find three products: the Pure Gold Radiance Concentrate, a serum infused with the Pure Gold Diffusion System that’s designed to smooth, refine, revitalise, and even out the skin tone; the Pure Gold Radiance Cream, and the Pure Gold Radiance Eye Cream.
All three products have been designed to be refillable. Its outer vessel is a thing of beauty, crafted out of hefty brushed metal casing and cap. The outer vessels are designed to last indefinitely and will sit beautifully on your vanity. Within it sits a glass vial that can be replaced with a new product after it’s finished.
Available at Isetan KLCC, Isetan Gardens, and Parkson Pavilion KL.
Bobbi Brown is taking its best-selling shade of Pink Glow and turning it into an entire collection comprising its iconic Highlighting Powder, a Liquid Highlighter, an Extra Lip Tint in two shades, and the Pink Glow Luxe Eye Shadow Quad. This limited-edition collection harnesses that lit-from-within-glow of peach champagne that compliments all skin tones.
Available at Bobbi Brown Cosmetics counters from May 2021 onwards.
Sunscreen on a stick sounds like a genius product, and that’s precisely what Shiseido has just debuted. The Clear Sunscreen Stick is formulated with the brand’s exclusive SynchroShield technology that reacts to heat, water, and perspiration to strengthen the UV protective shield on the skin. Since the product is clear, there will be no white cast upon application and is great for all skin tones. It’s also ocean-friendly thanks to its water-resistant formula, which means that there will be less elution into the sea.
Gucci isn’t slowing down on its releases — new in the lipstick range is the Rouge De Beauté Brillant, a hybrid lipstick combining nourishing balm properties with a high shine colour. The lipstick derives its nourishing properties from a combination of flower oils, fruit butters, and hyaluronic acid in its formula, while black rose, peony, and jojoba seed oil as well as karité butter ensures that your lips stay moisturised up to 24 hours. The Rouge De Beauté Brillant is available in 15 shades consisting of reds, pinks, corals, plum and natural shades, including the iconic 25* Goldie Red.

There are regular eye serums, and then there is Dior’s Capture Totale Super Potent Eye Serum, a total anti-fatigue and age-defying eye contour serum that will redefine the entire eye area all the way to the brow bone for smoother, firmer, and more luminous skin. Dior claims that with just four weeks of use, the eye contour area will appear four years younger. This is made possible thanks to three active ingredients in the serum: logonza extract, active rye extract, and acetylated hyaluronic acid.
Imagine being able to target over eight skincare concerns with a two-in-one product. That’s what AHC claims to do with its Luminous Glow Eye Cream for Face. The eye cream is formulated with an exclusive ingredient, the Gluta-I Complex, which is a blend of unique and specialised ingredients that gives this product its glow-boosting and anti-ageing properties. The eye cream also contains Vitamin C derivatives, brightening hyaluronic acid, skin-calming alpha-bisabolol, and more.

Burberry has finally gotten onto the cushion foundation bandwagon with its brand new Ultimate Glow Cushion. The full coverage foundation is anything but cakey, giving you a smooth complexion with that coveted glow.

Cushion foundation is getting a sort of renaissance of late, but nothing can top the intricate design that History of Whoo is so known for. In fact, the design of this cushion foundation was inspired by the Korean royal palace’s spring blooms. With this cushion foundation, you’ll get a radiant and hydrated complexion thanks to chrysanthemum floral extract. Coverage for this cushion foundation is medium to full with a glowing finish.
With our tropical weather, the last thing we want is a heavy, full-coverage foundation caking up our skin. Opt for something lighter and fresher instead, like the new Make Up For Ever Watertone Foundation. This lightweight foundation feels fresh on the skin and has hydrating properties, so you can wear it for long hours without feeling like it’s weighing you down. It’s perfect for all skin types including matured skin, as it doesn’t settle into fine lines and wrinkles. With a wide range of colours, it’s great for literally everyone.

If you have sensitive skin and often struggle to find the right sunscreen, then perhaps you should consider the new Sunplay Skin Aqua Physical Sunscreen SPF50+. It’s a physical sunscreen that sits on the skin, as opposed to a chemical type sunscreen, hence it is less irritating when applied onto skin. However, unlike most physical sunscreens that tend to err on the heavy side, this new product from Sunplay is delightfully lightweight, non-greasy, and doesn’t leave a white cast on your skin. To further add to its sensitive skin-friendliness, this sunscreen is also alcohol-free, paraben-free, colourant-free and oxybenzone-free, and has no mineral oil or chemical filters.
Banish all dark spots from your skin with the new Dermalogica PowerBright Dark Spot Serum. It claims to fade spots in mere days, all thanks to a formulation of high-tech ingredients like potent niacinamide and hexylresorcinol, shiitake mushrooms to brighten skin, adaptogenic ashwagandha, blackcurrant oil, and peony flowers. Use it for both your day and nighttime skincare routine after cleansing, followed by your regular products.
Available at authorised Dermalogica skin care centres nationwide.
