Each time a new season comes along, beauty brands from across the globe begin making its way to our shores, most of the time via beauty giant Sephora Malaysia. Here are six skincare brands for you to experiment with that are currently available in stores and/or online.

Biossance

Did you know that your skin produces a fatty molecule called squalene? It maintains the skin’s moisture barrier and hydration levels while also acting as an antioxidant. However, over time it weakens naturally which leads to skin ageing. You can amp up your squalene levels again with Biossance, a skincare brand that uses squalane as its core ingredient. However, squalane is normally harvested from shark liver, which is not exactly the most animal- or eco-friendly way to get them. Plus, it’s also unstable. Biossance gets its squalane from 100% plant-based, renewable sugarcane which is then bio-fermented to create effective results.

Bybi Beauty

Founded by beauty bloggers, formulators, and skincare experts Elsie and Dominika, Bybi Beauty is a result of what they feel the world is lacking: clean and efficient skincare products. Bybi Beauty uses 100% natural, vegan and cruelty-free ingredients. The brand also strives to do better for our planet, whether it is through raw materials, packaging or supplies. Everything is transparent with the brand, including its ingredients. Rest assured knowing that whatever you apply on your skin from Bybi Beauty is made out of safe yet potent ingredients that are highly effective.

Frank Body

Coffees scrubs are easy and messy yet effective. Frank Body is what we would describe as the pioneer of coffee scrubs. What’s interesting is that there are not just regular coffee scrubs in the product. The brand has infused it with various oils and ingredients such as coconut and chocolate to keep skin looking and feeling yummy. As written on its website: “Unlike your ex, I’m non-toxic. I use natural and naturally-derived ingredients that are tested on babes, not bunnies”.

Gallinée

We’ve all heard the horrors of bacteria, but did you know that there are good bacteria as well? Microbiome is the name for all types of good bacteria and microorganisms are living in (or on) your body. They play a huge role in protecting your skin by ensuring its barrier is strong enough to withstand damage. However, it will weaken over time and skin becomes irritated, sensitive, and dry. The solution? “Why not put back the good bacteria onto your skin?” was Gallinée‘s thoughts exactly. It is the first brand to care for your sensitive skin and its bacterial ecosystem, ensuring your skin stays strong and healthy.

Sand & Sky

We’re 100% sure you’ve already seen them on social media. Ladies flaunting their clay masks that are packaged in a small pink tub — ring any bells? Sand & Sky, an Insta-famous brand from Australia is now available in Sephora Malaysia. Australia’s untouched landscapes ensure the purity of the mask formula. That means you’ll get the most effective results, in fact immediately after using it for the first time. Its best-selling pore-refining mask is a 4-in-1 miracle mask that tightens pores, invigorates dull complexions, and instantly boosts radiance.

Tata Harper

When 100% natural yet high-quality products weren’t exactly accessible, founder Tata took matters into her own hands and created a brand that represented these standards. Tata Harper uses more than 300 raw ingredients across the products; these are used at its highest levels of concentration to deliver maximum results. There is not a single drop of chemical or any nasties contained in them, allowing you to use them with a peace of mind. Basically, natural and high-performance products.
