To encourage more people to learn about and appreciate art, this is our monthly column on art exhibitions available for visiting in Kuala Lumpur. This September, there will be a showcase of The Royal Press’ artefacts, an exhibition of crafts by Pua Kumbu Textile and Ribu Ribu as well as lovely architectural sketches by Paul Nickson Atia.

2929: The Royal Press Exhibition

The Royal Press was originally located in Melaka, but they have been temporarily residing in APW Bangsar for the past two years while their Melaka museum underwent renovation works. To celebrate moving back to Melaka very soon, and to toast to all the friends and fresh support received, the team will be showcasing their works from the past two years as well as projects from a special collaboration with local designers. The Cheong sisters of Kongsi Design, Angel Wong and Ejin Sha present their creative interpretation of artefacts by The Royal Press into contemporary lifestyle products.

The exhibition will run this 10 – 23 September 2016 from 10am – 6pm.

LineLain + Pop-Up JunkED

Finding beauty in the imperfect, urban sketch artist Paul Nickson Atia creates chaotic architectural sketches inspired by cities he’s visited including Kuala Lumpur, Kuching and Vietnam. There will also be a Pop-Up JunkED Market hosted by young local makers to highlight the different creative fields and local goods created right here. If you love learning new forms of art, make sure to take part in the workshops that will be available.

The exhibition will run from 3 – 10 September 2016 from 12 – 6pm daily.
