Even with the slightest tension between a high fashion brand and Chinese culture (D&G, we’re looking at you), Prada went ahead and just nosedove right in with their latest release a few weeks before the big festivities. Mahjong has always been afflicted with the Chinese community and it’s still played in many households up until this day despite being introduced in the early 20th century. There’s something about the shuffling sound of the mahjong tiles on the table that still gives a sense of nostalgia, and it’s definitely not something a mahjong online game would be able to offer. So from Prada’s Fall/Winter 2018 collection, you’ll be able to spot this Leather Mahjong Game and it retails for USD3,800 (approximately RM16,000).

The tiles are rendered in acrylic resin and obviously from an Italian fashion label that specalises in leather, Prada has them wrapped up in Saffiano leather, including the case that holds the pieces which also happens to be in the same leather finish. The case also features a metal Prada lettering adorning the front for that extra touch.

If you have some extra ringgits to splurge, why not? Go on ahead and make the purchase so you can show them off to your mahjong kakis. Did we mention that it will also look amazing on your coffee table?
