Art & The City: 3 KL exhibitions to check out in April 2017

The recent rainy weather over the past few days has confined us to staying indoors. Thankfully, there are several art and photography exhibitions to check out in KL this month, so we can be well-entertained while keeping warm and dry away from the city’s April showers.

If photography is right up your alley, don’t miss Jeffry Lim’s exhibition in collaboration with the New Zealand High Commission at Bangsar Shopping Centre. His works feature some stunning aerial photography of New Zealand’s sea, air and land views that are sure to inspire you to visit the beautiful country.

Art collectors should also take note of Henry Butcher Art Auctioneers’ full viewing in KL before the next Malaysian & Southeast Asian Art Auction on 23 April 2017. As always, they’ve curated an impressive collection of works from artists in the region.

For something a little more cultural, head over to The Dolls of Japan: Shapes of Prayer, Embodiments of Love exhibition held at the Petaling Jaya Museum. About 70 dolls will be on display, showcasing the vast range of styles that are used over the 13,000 years of figurines playing a central role to Japanese culture.
