Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, so why not make an adventure out of it? These 3-ingredient breakfast recipes are easy to make and will showcase your prowess in the kitchen.

Given the current state of Malaysia’s extended MCO, we have all been forced to abruptly adapt to the situation. For people who can’t cook, it makes the situation all the bleaker. While food delivery services have made it much easier, you will be paying a much higher price compared to getting groceries instead.

Of course, you can always have brunch delivered, but it doesn’t carry the same weight than if it was made by your own two hands. Cooking can be therapeutic for many — you just have to be willing to give it a shot. Another good way to start would be with ready-to-cook meals.

By making your breakfast, you also get to control what ingredients go into it. Seeing as we’re still stuck at home for the next two weeks (at the very least), now’s a good a time to start exercising again. With that said, scroll down below to check out these easy 3-ingredient breakfast recipes.

1
Avocado toast

Ingredients

1 avocado

1 egg

1 slice of bread

How to make

There are many ways you can go about making an avocado toast. The great thing about this dish is the flexibility; you can have the avocado sliced or mashed, whichever you prefer. You can also experiment with different bread and ways of cooking your eggs. It can be soft-boiled, poached, scrambled, over easy, or even fried. Toast your bread first before adding in the avocado and topping it off with your eggs.

2
Banana pancakes

Ingredients

1 ripe banana

2 eggs

1/4 tablespoon cinnamon powder

How to make

This recipe is different from what you will find as it requires no pancake batter at all. Simply place all the ingredients into a bowl and whip until it forms into a thick batter (probably in less time than it takes for you to make Dalgona coffee), which will act as a base for your pancakes. Cook on a non-stick griddle or pan and watch your creation come to life. If you’re feeling fancy, top it off with yoghurt and some berries for added flavour and texture.

3
Breakfast skillet

Ingredients

4 eggs

250g ground turkey

1 cup salsa

How to make

Get your skillet nice and hot before throwing in the ground turkey, then cook to completion. Once done, toss in the salsa and let the two ingredients blend together to ensure you get the same flavours with every bite. Crack in 4 eggs once you’re done and cook for eight minutes or until the egg whites are cooked through.

4
French toast

Ingredients

4 slices of bread

2 eggs

1 cup of milk

How to make

French toast is one of the easiest breakfast dishes one learn to make. Crack your eggs into a bowl and beat lightly with a fork or whisk. Slowly add in the milk while beating, and then douse your bread in it. Once done, heat up your skillet or griddle and add a knob of butter on it before cooking your egg-soaked slices of bread. Make sure you’re on medium-to-low heat and cook your bread until it turns a nice golden brown. Top it off with powdered sugar or syrup if you want to make it even sweeter.
