These menus are available for a limited time only.

With the current MCO prolonged, it is always a good idea to treat yourself with great food as a gesture of self-love. And by now, you’re probably running out of ideas of what to order for your next meal.

Let us point you to the right direction with highly recommended tried-and-tasted menus from Dewakan, as well as our favourite neighbourhood cafes Huckleberry and Birch KL.

Craving for laksa? Our friends at Dewakan are putting together a special Hidang Laksa Menu for a limited time only. The menu, available until 5th July 2021, brings back the all-time favourite Sarawak Laksa (RM43) that was introduced earlier this year at the restaurant. Every slurp offers rich piquant flavours, with thick vermicelli noodles soaking up the delicious broth. Spice things up with the homemade sambal to add extra kick.

Another must-try is definitely the Laksa Siglap (RM40), a traditional laksa dish from Singapore. Based on a generational recipe, Laksa Siglap has similar flavours of laksam and laksa Johor — a crossover between the two laksa recipes, to simply describe its unique taste. It has a strong hint of turmeric and a creamy texture, enveloping the rice noodles with its glossy yellow broth. The broth, prepared using wolf herring (ikan parang) and coconut, is steeped in heritage, and takes perfect status when enjoyed hot with the freshly made sambal belachan on the side.

Sweeten up your meal with the Curry Berry Ice Cream (RM47 promo price with purchase of laksa) — one of three ice cream creations Chef Darren Teoh and his culinary team has created with local artisanal ice cream maker, Minus 4 Degrees.

Huckleberry X Birch

Huckleberry and Birch are teaming up for a special menu featuring gourmet hot dogs in conjunction with the 4th of July, American Independence Day celebrations. The menu, available from 1st to 7th July 2021, features five ‘outrageously delicious’ hot dogs that will sure to satisfy some of your most ridiculous cravings during the lockdown.

The Classic Hot Dog (RM24+) is simply a crowd-pleasure, but you can always up the ante with the Buffalo Bleu Dog (RM29+) that has a drizzle of tangy blue cheese hot sauce, and toppings of celery, pickles and jalapeño peppers.

We got to sample the Truffle Dog (RM38+), a classic recipe that’s elevated with a truffle celery relish, truffle mayo and American cheese. A refreshing twist, we enjoyed the anise-y flavour of finely diced celery that’s perfumed with truffle. Pair the crunch from the veggies and the juicy sausage with a pillowy bun, and you get a great meal for lunch or dinner.

There’s also the Huckleberry-exclusive Texan Chilli Dog (RM26+) that has chicken jalapeño sausage blanketed in a rich chicken chilli con carne and American cheese, with sour cream on the side. If you’re up for something more ‘outrageous’, the Birch Dirty Dog (RM29+) — available in Birch only — is sure to give you the kick. Smokey jalapeño sausage is doused with chicken chilli con carne, homemade kantan relish, brown onions, cheddar cheese, smashed avocado, garlic aioli, lettuce and smokey bbq sauce.

Make it a complete meal by adding RM10 for a slice of Red Velvet cake. Are you salivating yet? Do a takeaway or have your hot dogs delivered to your doorstep here.
