5 new bars in KL to check out this January 2019

The year has just begun and already there are a few new bars for you to check out. For this month, we have a wide range of bars to choose from, which includes a speakeasy as well as a cocktail bar to name a few.

This comes hot off the heels of the latest restaurants and cafes that you can also check out this month. You can now make the most of your day with it, starting out with a restaurant or cafe and moving on towards one of the bars at night.

One of the bars in this list is part of The RuMa Hotel and Residences, which is also home to Atas. It will be a stretch to check out all of these bars over the span of one month but luckily, most of them are relatively nearby from one another. This makes it easier to hop to multiple locations in one night.

1
SEVEN Bar & Lounge

SEVEN Bar & Lounge is the latest hotel bar to make its way into Malaysia, housed within the RuMa Hotel & Residences. Much like Atas, SEVEN Bar & Lounge focuses on modern Malaysian flavours into its cocktails as well as bar snacks. It’s also home to where one can have afternoon tea, which comes with a wide variety of tea leaves around the world as well as a tray tartlets, cakes, scones, and sandwiches. SEVEN Bar & Lounge is located on the ground floor of the RuMa Hotel & Residences, tucked neatly into the daylight-filled conservatory.

TTDI is never short on places to wine and dine. It offers a healthy balance of neighbourhood watering holes and speakeasy bars that one can explore. The latest addition to the neighbourhood is Soma Cocktail Bar, featuring contemporary and classic cocktails. Its unpretentious and comfortable setting blends in perfectly with the atmosphere of TTDI. The cocktails available also can add some colour to your social media feeds as the bartenders are more than capable of whipping up something creative.

Over the past few years, Klang Valley has seen the rise of speakeasy bars. The latest to hit the streets of PJ lies within Tropicana Avenue, hidden behind a refrigerator. To enter, look out for an unobtrusive convenience store within the arcade gallery. Through here you will find a secret door that will bring you inwards to Unknownz Hype Bar, which has all you need for the modern-day bar, topped off with beer pongs tables.
