Asia’s biggest gin festival will kick off its tour in the region with a bang in KL this coming 22nd of August till the 26th of August 2018. Held for the third year running, The East Imperial Gin Jubilee will feature a myriad of activities from gin and tonic appreciation, to education, and revelry. The main activities will be held in Plaza Batai, Bukit Damansara while the opening party will happen in Bar Trigona, Four Seasons KL.
With gin being such a popular and versatile spirit loved by all, it’s no wonder that with each passing year, the Gin Jubilee becomes bigger and bigger. In fact, just last year alone saw 1,500 consumers in attendance. “The Gin Jubilee will build on the G&T’s popularity here by exposing drinkers to many trending, as well as new gin brands from around the world,” shares Shawn Samuel, CEO of the Gin Jubilee’s local organiser, Wholly Spirits.
This year’s Gin Jubilee aims to give its guests a more in-depth knowledge on the varieties of gins out there. There will be more masterclasses, sipping events, and a new menu of creative G&T creations to taste around town. As East Imperial is the official sponsor for this year’s Gin Jubilee, all G&Ts will be made with their variety of tonic waters. Over 20 bars will be participating in the Gin Jubilee, from Coley to Three X Co, and even Pacific Standard Bar. To spice things up, bartenders from these bars will be competing to win the Best Gin & Tonic prize in KL, joining previous year’s winners including Angel Ng from PS150 and Kazi Tanbir from HYDE.
Other than trying out a plethora of gin and tonic cocktails, expect to sample over 10 craft gin brands, from well-known ones such as Hendrick’s and Monkey 47 to newcomers like Four Pillars Gin and G’Vine. Before festivities officially kick off on the 22nd, treat yourself to some drinks during the pre-opening party at Bar Trigona on the 21st of August. You deserve it.
