The BMW 218i Gran Coupé M Sport has the perfect balance between being sporty, dynamic, and compact.

But there is more to the car than meets the eye. Aside from being BMW’s first-ever four-door coupé, the marque also partnered with local businesses, volunteer groups, and Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) on creating a fleet of camouflaged models sporting unique designs. This included works from the likes of Komuniti Tukang Jahit, Changgih Designs, INKAA, and Kanoe.

Aside from its unique camo colourways, the BMW 218i Gran Coupé M Sport brings a breath of fresh air to the German automaker. The first thing you’ll notice is the newly-designed three-dimensional mesh single-unit kidney grille, flanked by slanted LED headlights and foglights. The car is aerodynamically designed to give it greater performance with a dynamic presence, hence its lowered centre of gravity. Both its front and rear doors are sleek and frameless, further accentuating its fluid design.

The all-new Gran Coupé also sports 18-inch M light-alloy wheels in double-spoke style 819 M Bicolour with run-flat tyres. This gives the car a much more muscular appearance without ever having to worry about a puncture. On the rear, you’ll spot the slim wrap-around LED taillights, giving it a streamlined and clean aesthetic.

For all of its sporty and clean aesthetics, its nothing without the horses. The Gran Coupé houses the B38 1.5-litre three-cylinder turbocharged engine with 140hp and 220Nm of torque. This front-wheel-drive system uses a 7-speed Steptronic double-clutch transmission, giving it a top speed of 213kph while doing the century sprint in 8.7 seconds. Its suspension, steering, and damping have also been tuned to meet its sportier requirements.

Moving into the cabin, you’ll find that the Gran Coupé has plenty of toys to keep even the most ardent of technophiles entertained. Illuminated Boston trim finishing can be found around the car while the sports seat upholstery features Dakota leather with an M leather steering wheel to boot. On the centre console, you’ll find a fully digital instrument cluster with an 8.8-inch infotainment touchscreen display. The driver will also get his own 5.1-inch display that tells all about the car’s speed, navigation, as well as driver assistance.

The BMW 218i Gran Coupé M Sport comes in five distinctive colourways — Alpine White, Black Sapphire, Snapper Rock Blue, Storm Bay, and Melbourne Red.
