To drive, or be driven? That is the answer. For the new Lexus LS 500, the choice is yours, because it has been optimised for both driver and passenger. The fifth generation of the Lexus LS, the new LS 500 embodies both dynamic performance and a luxurious interior, making it an all-around performance luxury sedan.

Starting with the performance, the Lexus LS 500 is fitted with an all-new 3.5-litre V6 engine specifically developed for this model. It has an improved thermal efficiency coupled with twin turbochargers offering V8-level power housed inside a compact package. The vehicle also has the first-ever 10-speed automatic transmission for a premium passenger car, further emphasising that the LS 500 is not just made to be driven in — but also to drive.

The Japanese hospitality spirit of omotenashi too is reflected here, and it’s seen in the entire experience of being inside the vehicle as a passenger. Being produced in Tahara — a city in Aichi Prefecture was perhaps one of the reasons the LS 500 was inspired by traditional Japanese aesthetics. This is evident in the interior ambient lighting inspired by Japanese lanterns, and armrests that appear to float next to the door panel. Small touches like the hand-pleated upholstery simply reiterates the fact that the Lexus LS 500 oozes luxury in exclusivity.
