Smartphone photography has taken the driver’s seat over the past few years with many brands boasting gargantuan specs, innovations, and features into its smartphone camera technology. While most focus towards the rear camera that is paired with artificial intelligence, Oppo takes a different approach with the Oppo F9.
The Oppo F series is seen as more of a mid-range smartphone but Oppo decides to include plenty of premium features. This allows it to outperform others in the market while still retaining its affordability. One of its biggest inclusions is the VOOC Flash Charge technology, Oppo’s very own fast-charging innovation. Oppo promises a quick five-minute charge that will give the device enough juice to last a full two hours on its 3,500mAh battery.
The design of the Oppo F9 also features a notch, but nothing quite like anyone has seen. To date, Oppo is the only smartphone manufacturer to introduce a notch that small in a shape of a waterdrop. This allows it to have a 90.8% screen-to-body ratio with its 6.3-inch Full HD+ display. On the opposite end, its full glass back offers a gradient colourway with its flower-petal design.
But the one thing that Oppo stands proud for is its selfie camera technology. Held beneath the waterdrop-shaped notch is a 25-megapixel camera while the rear holds a dual camera setup with a 16-megapixel and 2-megapixel sensor. Both cameras are AI-powered and is also capable of capturing shots with greater depth of field. Scene recognition is also available, identifying up to 16 different objects.
Under the hood of the Oppo F9 lies a MediaTek Helio P60 processor with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. The latter can be increased with a dedicated microSD card, thanks to the triple slot tray. Now you can hold two SIM cards simultaneously with a microSD card.
The Oppo F9 is now available for pre-order through its dedicated online store at RM1,399 from today onwards.
