The Dyson Digital Slim vacuum really sucks — and we love it.

When the phrase ‘household chores’ come to mind, dread is usually the first emotion; unless you’re one of those that genuinely enjoys it. One of the biggest chores of them all would be vacuuming. Just thinking of the long hours of needing to drag around a large vacuum cleaner is bad enough, but then you’ll also get a cord that never seems to be long enough.

Of course, technology has helped pave the way over the years. Household chores now become less of a burden because technology has made it so. Take the Dyson Digital Slim cordless vacuum cleaner for instance. It’s a lightweight, compact vacuum that is completely cable-free, which means you can bring it around with you anywhere in the house to clean. It’s also insanely powerful without annoying the entire household — how much better can that get?

Also, there are two versions of the Dyson Digital Slim — the Fluffy Extra and the Fluffy Pro with the latter dripping in a gold/iron colourway while the former is bathed in a rich purple hue. We’ve been using the Fluffy Extra for some time now and dare we say, it’s one of the best in the market in terms of design, usability, and performance.

With all that said, here are some reasons why we love the Dyson Digital Slim.

It’s insanely light and compact

Use it with one hand with extreme ease.

One of the biggest takeaways we can attest to from the Dyson Digital Slim is its size and weight. Its predecessor, the Dyson V11 weighed 2.97kg whereas the Digital Slim comes in at only 1.9kg. Especially if you’re thinking of upgrading from the older models, you can instantly feel the difference when carrying it. Given the nature of its design, the Digital Slim is much easier to use singlehandedly and its lightweight body ensures you won’t get tired easily.

The design is to die for

The design of the Dyson Digital Slim has a futuristic appeal.

Often times, you’ll find that a vacuum cleaner, cordless or not, doesn’t look very appealing to the eye. While it was designed for practical use, James Dyson had a different idea when he thought of the Digital Slim. At first glance, you might even think it’s a prop from a sci-fi movie. With its futuristic design, Dyson is leaps and bounds ahead of the competition when it comes to design. What’s great is that the design also serves a purpose — it’s gun-like grip has natural grooves to wrap around your fingers around while its weight is evenly distributed within the motor. This ensures it is perfectly balanced, as all things should be.

Great for homes of any size and shape

Turn the Dyson Digital Slim Extra Fluffy into a handheld vacuum for your car.

Given the very size and weight of the Dyson Digital Slim Extra Fluffy, it’s safe to say that it’s a great addition to just about any household. Whether big or small, the Digital Slim can get the job done in no time at all. It’s capable of performing three different jobs at once, all thanks to the many tool heads and extensions that come with it. Go from a handheld to a stick vacuum with just a click-and-switch of the extensions and you’re good to go.

Extremely powerful when necessary

Dyson Digital Slim
Not only is the cleaner head 40% smaller and lighter, but it’s also made from high-tensile ABS with an integrated motor at the brush bar to allow for edge-to-edge cleaning with its soft woven nylon cleaner head.

One thing that Dyson does really well is introducing plenty of power into its handheld devices. The Dyson Supersonic hairdryer is a prime example and now, so is the Digital Slim Extra Fluffly. This small, light, and powerful vacuum cleaner houses the Dyson Hyperdymium motor that spins at 120,000rpm, generating 100W of powerful suction the moment you turn it on. This ensures that you can do more in less time, allowing you to clean the entire house with hours to spare.

The UI keeps everything simplistic

The Digital Slim Extra Fluffly also features a circular LCD screen that provides intel reports from time to time. It shows the current performance of the vacuum cleaner as well as its power mode and current battery life. There are three different modes to choose from when cleaning — Eco, Med, and Boost. While the first two provide moderate power with greater battery life, Boost mode offers extreme suction capabilities but it’ll eat up the battery in no time. You will also receive diagnostic reports from time-to-time, which includes maintenance reminders and blockage alerts.

Easy Maintenance

One of the chores people hate most when it comes to cleaning the house is getting rid of all the trash you’ve collected earlier. Dyson has turned this into a very simple process. Due to the very nature of the Digital Slim Extra Fluffly’s design, its straight and cylindrical slim bin has a hygienic ejection mechanism, making it easy to rid of the dust and other dirt in one swift move. To ensure there is no dust build-up, Dyson has ensured that everything apart from the main device is easy to wash and maintain.
