It’s official, Gabrielle Union and Dwyane Wade are #CoupleGoals in every sense. They’ve been married for eight years and counting, they’re the proud parents to three children, and they’ve established themselves as one of the cutest families on TikTok. On top of all that, the couple also supports each other in their fitness journeys.
Union recently posted an Instagram video of the two putting in work at the gym. “I be up in the gym, workin on my @fitonapp fitness, he’s my witness!” wrote Union in the caption, a clever nod to Fergie’s 2006 hit, “Fergalicious.” In the clip, the two complete a full-body workout that mixes strength and cardio exercises, and it looks seriously intense.

At the start of the video, Union and Wade complete leg presses before moving on to a treadmill segment where Union walks on an incline while Wade opts for a run. Throughout the video they also perform crunches on a Bosu ball while holding resistance bands over their heads for added tension, alternating lunges using suspension straps, dumbbell chest presses, and cable chest flys.

If you haven’t noticed, Union and Wade never miss a chance to work out together. Exercise is a part of their morning routine, Union previously revealed. “We like to get up together before the kids are up at, like, 6 am, and we train together in our home gym,” the FitOn ambassador told Women’s Day in March of last year. “We enjoy it and push each other to stay consistent and stay on top of it.” Even though Union’s and Wade’s fitness goals aren’t the same, working out together has helped keep both of them motivated, the actress shared. “For us, consistency is key,” she told the publication.
If you need any more proof that the couple is #goals, working out with your partner comes with benefits. Research shows that people are more successful at exercising if they do so with their romantic partners, according to a 2021 study published in the Journal of Social and Personal Relationships. The study found that working out with a romantic partner may help people better maintain an exercise routine and improve their experiences as a couple inside and outside the gym.
So, the next time you’re struggling to make it to the gym, try Union and Wade’s method and take your partner (or a friend!) along for the ride.
