Kuala Lumpur has the amazing ability to surprise us. Just pathways away from the busy city’s skyline of stain and steel lies majestic mountains and waterfalls. Chances are you can see these mountainous outlines from your bedroom window, so why not climb it? Trainers, water, snacks and a camera (an Insta-worthy photo is a must) is all you’ll need. Regardless of your hiking skills, we have found the five best hiking trails that will free your mind from the hustle and bustle of the city, and put you in touch with Mother Nature.
Broga Hill (Bukit Broga)
Lace up those trainers and hike your way up to the peak of Broga Hill — at the break of dawn, no less — to catch the magnificent sunrise. The hike itself is moderately easy and takes only 40 minutes from the base to top.

Tabur Hill (Bukit Tabur):
Tabur Hill is the world’s longest quartz ridge and offers some of the most impressive views of KL. The hike is on the challenging side as it requires a fair amount of rock climbing and takes up to four hours. Trust us though — once you reach the top of the summit, you will not regret it.
