10 best fashion moments of the week: Cannes Film Festival 2017

It’s that time of the year again, when Hollywood’s finest have descended on Cannes’ French Riviera for two weeks of critically acclaimed cinema and all-out glamour. With all the celebrities vying for attention on the red carpet, or off even, the stakes are high. And we’re here to document the most star-studded moments as seen through Instagram, because as the millennial-inflicted adage goes: If it’s not on social media, it never happened.

The first week of Cannes Film Festival proved everyone got their memo. Festive reds or purist whites were the favoured choices, with thigh-high slits coming in at a close second. Emily Ratajkowski’s mile-long limb might have stolen the limelight from her emerald necklace, but it was her perfect bay moment where she basked in the setting sun, that would be eternally etched in our minds. Rihanna, on the other hand, ditched her bad gal persona for an off-white bridal look topped off with Matrix-like Andy Wolf shades. Another standout was award-winning actress Susan Sarandon, whose sultry split and smoking throwback post bore witness to the statement that age is just a number.

Here, catch up on 10 of Cannes Film Festival’s A-game Instagram moments you might have missed this week

Right after her twinning red carpet moment with Bella Hadid, Emily Ratajkowski dashed off to the docks to soak in the sunset in the best way possible: Barefooted.

“After the red carpet, stranded on a dock, watching the sunset barefoot ❤️ #Cannes

When it comes to bringing red carpet A-game, we all know Riri isn’t one to disappoint.

Bella Hadid, basking in warm afternoon rays while dressed to the Dior nines like it’s no biggie, has completely redefined “golden hour”.

Here’s one of the obvious reasons why Cannes keeps having Susan Sarandon as a mainstay on its red carpet.

“Cannes 1978 #TBT

Now we know what Lily Collins likes: Sweetheart necklines, and puns.

“Getting ready for the curtain call…”

Meanwhile, another Lily stayed true to her namesake in the latest Chanel Cruise 2018 Grecian look.

A billowing train and a twirling Kendall Jenner can never go wrong together. ‘Nuff said.

Elle Fanning pulled an Angelina Jolie move by having — no, not Shiloh and Maddox — but Vivienne Westwood hand-painting Fanning’s favourite mystical creature on the back of her gown. And yes, it’s a unicorn.

“CANNES 2017 HERE WE GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ????????⭐️????????????????⭐️⭐️☄️☄️☄️☄️????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????✨✨✨✨✨✨”

Moonlit dancing by the beach was elevated to glam new heights by model Winnie Harlow and her crimson Zuhair Murad dress.

First Cannes… this photo sums it up ????❤ #grateful

Thai actress Araya “Chompoo” Hargate, who is five months pregnant, was a glowing sight to behold in Ralph & Russo.
