Fashion weeks always bring a fresh selection of new designs and trending street styles to the table. We did an extensive coverage of KL Fashion Week several months ago, followed by a street style review of New York Fashion Week, London Fashion Week, Milan Fashion Week, and finally Paris Fashion Week. Thus, it would only make sense that we also took notice of Seoul Fashion Week, which is one of, if not the coolest fashion week held in Asia.
Twice a year during Seoul Fashion Week, onlookers will not only be able to feast their eyes on the latest creations of the local fashion designers on the runway — the surrounding areas of Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP) will be filled with models, bloggers, and key people in the fashion industry with their on-point street styles. It may not be easy to get into Seoul Fashion Week, but at least you can see it on the screens of your smartphone via the right channels. By that, we mean the right fashion influencers in South Korea.
In our list below, you will find some of the top tier South Korean fashion influencers, which include bloggers, models, and stylists. Click follow on their Instagram accounts to be up to date with the Seoul Fashion Week highlights, and check out their street styles while you’re at it.
Ellis Ahn is a model under YGKPlus, the model management company owned by the famed YG. Following her means getting an insider’s look into Seoul Fashion Week, street style snaps, as well as her hanging out with her cool posse of model friends.
For an alternative style and an avalanche of colours, we recommend following style blogger 김나라. Her Instagram is a collection of personal style, which she self-proclaims as “queer”. It definitely tickles our fancy with the abundance of bright colours and mismatching silhouettes. Yet, she seems to pull it off rather well.
Seo Hyeon is also another YGKPlus model, and is actually one half of a twin. She’s walked in quite a number of runway shows during this edition of Seoul Fashion Week including Romanchic, Démoo, and Nohke. The lanky lass stuns with this contemporary twist to the plaid suit from Clut Studio, which we are slightly envious of.
Yoon Eong is also a model and has walked several runways during Seoul Fashion Week. For a dose of girly style with a slight edge, Yoon Eong is the perfect example to follow while also getting a glimpse of how fashion modelling works during Seoul Fashion Week.
Chae Rim stands out with her striking platinum bob, but her personal style is not to be missed as well. Layering seems to be her game, and she’s acing it. Pictured here, she layers a white shirt over a sheer lace top, and then a blazer on top of it all for an androgynous-Victorian vibe. The model is also part of Seoul Fashion Week, gracing several runways.
