This will be a weekly celebration of creativity in all forms.
At a time of a global health emergency where everyone in the world is doing their part by staying home, some may have been finding it difficult to adjust — especially for those who were used to bustling city life.
Understanding the rising feelings of uncertainty and fear in the face of sudden isolation, Bottega Veneta is about to launch a new multi-platform concept to help spread strength, positivity and creativity across the globe.
Titled Bottega Residency, the brand is inviting its collaborators, muses and talents to take over the platform throughout the week to provide us with inspiration, activity and comfort at a time of loneliness. “Creativity and strength lie at the heart of Bottega Veneta,” shared Daniel Lee, the brand’s creative director. “In this highly distressing time, we feel a responsibility to celebrate those values and ignite a sense of joy and hope in our community and beyond.”
From Mondays to Thursdays, members of the creative industries — from writers to musicians, film directors to performers — will share with us the creative minds and works that have influenced their lives and touched their souls. As for weekends, Fridays and Saturdays will see collaborating artists bring the platform to life with music performances and rising star chefs taking us through special recipes with cooking demonstrations. On Sundays, the brand shall team up with a film industry partner to treat us with a movie night, so it feels just like any average weekend to help retain a sense of familiar normality to our lives.
The first sharing at Bottega Residency will be from Daniel Lee himself. We’re still waiting for updates regarding the official launch date, but when it does, you can tune in from almost everywhere including Instagram, Youtube, Weibo, Line, Kakao, Spotify and Apple Music, as well as a unique mini-site on bottegaveneta.com.
Though social distancing can feel difficult, this is a journey that will give us an all-new understanding of the true meaning of luxury; for being able to stay home with your loved ones is in itself a luxury right now, and we’re glad that brands like Bottega Veneta are here to offer us a sense of joy and escapism to get us through these troubled times. So, please, everyone, just stay home.
