We know, it’s Met Gala week. Lady Gaga stole the show again, as expected, not with a huge rock on her neckline this time but with her four outfit changes on the carpet itself by Brandon Maxwell. Billy Porter also made a grand entrance with his Egyptian entourage. Another notable moment from the runways of Gucci was Jared Leto who brought his severed head accessory by his side for this year’s Met Gala.

But that’s enough of Met Gala news, we’re here with more Fashion Obsessions.

OffWhite c/o Virgil Abloh “City Garments” capsule collection

This special collection may be available globally but only 23 cities will have them, including our Off-White flagship store here in Bukit Bintang, KL. Consisting of a hoodie and T-shirt, these are available in both black and white colourways. Since it’s a tribute collection to the flagship stores across the globe, the pieces will have the address printed on them. On the front will be the city’s name, while on the back is the address and the Off-White’s classic diagonal shape. The collection is available for purchase starting from 10th of May 2019.

Gentle Fendi

Italian luxury fashion house, Fendi and contemporary Korean eyewear brand, Gentle Monster have come together for a one-of-a-kind collection — this is one we did not see coming at all. The Gentle Fendi capsule collection will consist of two unisex styles, Gentle Fendi NO.1 which features a small frame and bold logo and the Gentle Fendi NO. 2, which is much more casual in style and easy-to-wear.

Dior Cruise 2020 Collection

Dior Cruise 2020 Collection is inspired by the book African Wax Print Textiles.
Wax-print fabric is used across the collection.

Marrakesh has always been a source of inspiration to many. Surrounded by history and culture, it’s no surprise that this beautiful city, to be specific, the Moroccan palace that was built in the 16th century, was the backdrop for Dior Cruise 2020 collection. This season, Maria Grazia Chiuri took inspiration from the book African Wax Print Textiles by Anne Grosfilley. “It is not using an African print just to make a collection African,” Grosfilley told Vogue Australia. “It is how Dior is talking with Africa, how these two separate cultures can meet and create something new.” Since the wax-print fabric is used throughout the collection, Uniwax is involved in this project which enables them to take in proceeds from the collection. The Dior Cruise 2020 features unique silhouettes and shapes that chronicle the cultural heritage of the city in the most flattering way.
