What’s the latest in fashion?
Welcome back to our bi-weekly edition of Fashion Obsessions, where we show you the latest and greatest style releases and news to keep you updated with the times. This week, we notice an influx of new collections focusing on sustainability; from Monki’s vegan line to H&M’s swimwear collection and Uniqlo’s Lifewear series. Then, there are limited-edition collaboration releases, as well as a statement bag to covet. Come check them out with us below.
Roger Vivier RV Mini bag
Fashion doesn’t always have to be basic. Make pops of colours a fashion statement with your accessories — specifically the Roger Vivier RV Mini bag. For Spring/Summer 2020, the fashion house’s creative director Gherardo Felloni is reinterpreting Roger Vivier’s logo in a standout and fun way, displaying the initials R and V on the handles of the RV Mini bag. We love all six colourways, each one a refreshing pop of colour.
Women + Waves x H&M
H&M is no stranger to sustainable fashion, releasing a sustainable swimwear collection just in time for summer together with Women + Waves, a collective founded in 2017 by Rachel Murphy. The collection uses fabric blends with at least 50% sustainably-sourced materials such as recycled polyamide, recycled polyester, and organic cotton. Here, you’ll find swimwear inspired by iconic 90s activewear looks and cuts — there are one-pieces, rashguards, a wet suit made from high-quality natural rubber, and more. Everything is surf and style-ready, from the pool to the beach and the waves.
The Women + Waves x H&M collection launches August 6th at H&M Lot 10 Shopping Mall, Avenue K, 1 Utama, and Sunway Pyramid.
Skechers x One Piece
One Piece fans, listen up. Skechers will be releasing a new One Piece collection in collaboration with Toei Animation. This marks the fourth time the two brands have collaborated, and this range doesn’t disappoint. In the collection, you’ll find a range of accessories including caps and bumbags, men’s workout shorts, graphic tees for men and women, women’s tank tops, and more. Characters such as Luffy, Zoro, Nami, and Sanji appear throughout the collection.
Monki’s vegan collection
Monki has released a PETA-certified vegan line, further solidifying that ethical fashion and style can go hand in hand. While the brand does not use leather, down, and feather in its present collections, this vegan collection takes it a step further by obtaining PETA’s certification. The range includes the season’s chicest accessories including shoulder bags that are all-the-rage right now. Within the collection are also statement shoes (we love the chunky loafers) and cardholders.
The collection is available online and in stores now.
Uniqlo Lifewear Fall/Winter 2020 collection
Uniqlo has curated its entire Lifewear Fall/Winter 2020 collection towards its wearers’ different lifestyles. Themed ‘Sustainable Cities’, expect pieces tailored towards The Outdoors, Work & Craft, and Art & Design. Naturally, you’ll find items within the collection designed with sustainability in mind, including Fleece Jackets made from recycled polyester, sustainably-produced Ultra Stretch Jeans, and more.
The Uniqlo LifeWear 2020 Fall/Winter collection is currently available in stores nationwide and online.
