Gallery: Day 1, KL Fashion Week 2017: Romyda KL and Innai Red

The trendy Pavillion KL lit up once again with the glitz and glamour of models strutting down the ready-to-wear runway at KL Fashion Week 2017. Celebrating its fifth anniversary this year, the country’s biggest fashion event kicked off with a loud bang that truly showcased the strength and creativity of the fashion industry in Malaysia.

Swelling with Malaysian pride, the first half of #KLFWRTW2017 Day 1 featured the fabulous works of Malaysian batik designers Piala Seri Endon, Faizul Noorizan, Hafiz Drahman, Ridzuah Alias, Syahmiza Razali, and Yus Faizal as well as popular multi-label fashion company Fashion Valet with its #IAMHOMEGROWN campaign. Other highlights also included impressive designs from local fashion brands MAG Lifestyle and MEG KL as well as veteran designers Zery Zamry, Amelia Hassan, and Ezuwan Ismail. But Romyda KL and Innai Red’s 7 pm show ultimately stole the spotlight with its latest collections.

Gracing the KL Fashion Week ready-to-wear runway for the second year, Romyda KL used bold pops of teal and violet in its intricately designed bead works and embroidered patterns. All these made the exclusive label’s signature body-con silhouettes and lightweight iron-free fabrics stand out. We also saw the same sensuous combo from Innai Red, which used a dramatic mix of fiery red, different shades of green, and nude-toned fabrics as canvasses.
