Gents, here’s how you can wear next year’s Pantone colour: Living Coral

Each year, Pantone will announce its Colour of the Year to much frenzy. Everyone scrambles to find some way to incorporate the colour into their lives — this year is no different. The Pantone Colour of the Year 2019, Living Coral, is a much softer approach compared to last year’s Ultraviolet. This peachy shade is said to symbolise the need for optimism and joyful pursuit. We couldn’t agree more. Before you know it, you’ll be seeing this mellow hue everywhere, including your inside your wardrobe and in your living room.

Now here’s the part where it gets tricky: men usually tend to steer away from such bright and soft-looking shades, unlike last year’s UltraViolet which looks muted in comparison. But don’t be afraid to try it — Living Coral actually looks flattering on any skin tone. It’s much easier to pull off than you think.

Living Coral may be a specific Pantone shade, but you can rebel a little and choose to go lighter or deeper — the latter if you are not a fan of wearing bright shades. You can easily start by incorporating small coral elements and accessories into your outfit before you go all out. Just treat the colour like you would with any shades other than black — pair it with dark and neutral colours. If you’re feeling adventurous, go with a pastel on pastel combo.

Now that you’re armed with some tips on how to pull of Living Coral, here are some pieces you can get started with.
