We don’t know why it took so long, but Off-White is finally launching an activewear collection — Off Active.
Enter the launch of Off Active, a new activewear collection designed by creative director Virgil Abloh. It’s the streetwear maven’s answer to workout wear, blending fashion and functionality. The former comes through in the graphics seen throughout the collection, namely an abstract, graffiti print for the women’s pieces, and a camouflage-inspired one for men’s.
Functionality, on the other hand, comes out in the details. The Off Active men’s hoodie (which, unfortunately, does not seem to be available in KL) features two pockets on the front, very much in the style of those on Abloh’s utility jackets and vests for Louis Vuitton menswear. There are also a couple of zipped ones on Off Active’s hybrid cargo shorts and tights for men, which are fastened with a buckle-style waistband.
You won’t find many of those utilitarian-inspired details on the Off Active range for women though, which consists of sports bras, fitness T-shirts, cycling shorts and leggings. Still, they stand out with their bold design; there’s a hot pink mesh bra lined with the new Off Active logo, which comes with matching cycling shorts and a pair of compression socks. The ensemble makes as much of a statement as the printed black and white T-shirt and high-waisted leggings.
All garments across the Off Active collection are made with technical fabrics, designed to keep you cool and comfortable while you sweat it out. The collection also includes a couple of bags — a large duffle bag (RM1,460) and a drawstring backpack — both of which come in black and are embossed with the new logo.
They’re perfect for throwing in all your workout equipment and essentials the next time you head to the gym. Or the dance studio, or the park — wherever you go to keep your body at the top of its game. As Off-White notes, “Athleticism isn’t about performance. It’s about being active in your own way.”
